I have read a few people say that it was Slash who said they sounded like Skid Row.
I even read it on Wikki, but if I recall correctly it was Duff. 2 seconds I will find it.
Here it is
DUFF MCKAGAN Explains Why SEBASTIAN BACH Was Not Chosen To Sing For VELVET REVOLVER - June 30, 2003
Former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER bassist Duff McKagan spoke to 97.1 KLSX FM's Riki Rachtman about VELVET REVOLVER's decision to tap STONE TEMPLE PILOTS' Scott Weiland over ex-SKID ROW frontman Sebastian Bach as their new singer. "[Sebastian] did some amazing fantastic stuff on [the music we gave him to record vocals over] and you know he's an old friend of ours and I love the guy dearly," Duff said. "The problems we ran up against is, it's kind of with Baz, we sounded like SKID ROW, and we don't want to go down that [road]'¦ We're forging forward, you know, [and] we want to try to break some new ground. That doesn't mean that we want to be industrial or modern rock '” we just want to be something new, and this whole time, we've kept current with music. I mean, some of my best friends are the [guys from] QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, or [JANE'S ADDICTION's Dave] Navarro, or [AUDIOSLAVE's] Chris Cornell '” you know, these are guys who have gone on and moved forward, and that's something that we are doing [with VELVET REVOLVER]."
As previously reported, VELVET REVOLVER are tentatively scheduled to release an EP and DVD of the band's June 19 El Rey Theater performance on October 7 through an as-yet-undisclosed label. In addition to the live material, the EP will also include a studio track, which will be released as a single around the same time.
The band, who are rounded out by fellow ex-Gunners Slash (guitar) and Matt Sorum (drums), along with ex-LOADED/SUICIDAL TENDENCIES guitarist Dave Kushner, will perform a couple of live shows in the Los Angeles area in August/September before going into the studio to record a full album, tentatively due in early 2004.

No offense, but Slash will never officially release anything with Baz on it. Baz spent 06 shitting on VR when he could to please Axl, just like Axl's other hangers on. Baz should have done the honorable thing and stayed neutral in that mess.
Might see a leak of those in some form, but an official release? No way in hell.
No offence taken ,But Future music is possible.
There is an old article posted on Sebastian message board that say's we will someday hear the tunes. As far as I know they have only 1 studio track ever released & it was on Bach 2 Basics(2001),a tribute to Led Zeppelin (Communication Break Down)
Someone said Slash thought that he Baz where no longer friends Baz told a radio
last year nothing could be further from the truth. He said his feeling's of course where hurt after not being chosen for the gig but he will always be Slash & Duff friend.
I think it would be cool to hear the songs they did but it would
also be cool to the songs done with Mike Majestic to. I could be mistaken
but didn't Alter bridges singer try out to???

Wow. This is huge, and if it happens, VR is likely toast even though there are third album talks. They would go on hiatus of course, but the hiatus would become permanent with STP back.
VR may fulfill their contract by releasing demos/rarities or a live album.
If they tour, I am there.
Demos would be cool. They cut 5 songs with Sebastian
for The Project that eventually became VR,I would love to hear those songs.

Report: AEROSMITH Frontman Sells Interest In Band's Catalog - Jan. 10, 2008
Peter Lauria of the New York Post reports: In a deal that capitalizes on a recent change in tax law, AEROSMITH front man Steven Tyler has formed a strategic partnership that includes the sale of an interest in his band's publishing catalog to Primary Wave Music Publishing, The Post has learned.
Terms of the deal, expected to be announced today, were not disclosed, but music industry sources estimate the pact '” which covers 160 songs written or co-written by Tyler '” is worth about $50 million.
Included in the deal are the rights to many of the hit songs that led to AEROSMITH's reemergence on the rock scene beginning in the late 1980s, including "Love in an Elevator", "Dude Looks Like a Lady", "Janie's Got a Gun", and "Jaded".

so he doesnt own the songs anymore? i dont get it
why would he do that?
I could be wrong but I don't think he gave up all his
rights to them. At the same time he could be using his life long work to
set up his family for the rest of there lives? Interesting news....

Texas Dime fans demand statue
added: 09/01/2008Pantera fans attempt to erect statue in Dallas
According to Revolver magazine, two PANTERA fans Â'” Houston's Joey Riordan and Toronto's Mangra Â'” are trying to get a commemorative "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott statue erected in his hometown in Dallas. As inspiration, they cite existing monuments to Jimi Hendrix (in Seattle), Elvis Presley (in Memphis), and THIN LIZZY frontman Phil Lynott (Dublin, Ireland). "Getting Dimebag Darrell a statue in Dallas matters," Riordan tells Revolver. "That was, his memory will live on."

that's crazy if they put up a statue to him
He disserves one..... Dime was a phenomenal musician
But even more so he was a great human being. He all ways
represented the Lone Star State. I wish Vinnie would put
out a CD of the early years. They always where a great band.
Maybe not all 3 CD's but certainly a best of the first 4 would Rule.
Songs like Heavy Metal Rules & Will meet again,Power Metal ,I am the night.
Another thing that would be cool is the Music from Sebastian's Rock Buds
came out. Dime,Sebastian Rex,Bam Bam & Snake. Got great reviews for that show.
