@Sp1at is this guest that you talked about still in plans for Glastonbury?

Thanks in advance

Some thoughts that I have about songs that may be finish. Axl talked about 32 songs were worked at the time, 26 of 32 were nearly done, 14 have been put in Chinese Democracy that leaves us with 12 songs, Hardskool and Absurd have been released so 10 songs right now, I think that Billionarie, P.R.L, Real Doll.com and Dub suplex are songs not finished and abandonded completely and I do think that Axl didn't even reffer to them when he point out the 32 songs worked, I just think this because are too industrial and not match with the references of Axl saying that CD2 was going to be more darker. Matching with this description Circus Maximus is probably not finished.

In Hardskool were pieces of vocals from Eye On You that makes me believe that it has not been finished.

Perhaps, Atlas, Quick Song, Mustache, Zodiac, Tonto, State of Grace, Oklahoma, Devious Bastard, Dummy, D Tune, Curly Shuffle, Nothing, Thyme and As It Began. This are the last choices. I know that are other songs that I have not put like Ides Of March, but Sp1at confirmed that It was not finished in that time

If CD2 was ready to be released these might be the tunes that are left with vocals:

Perhaps: leaked in 2019, we already hear it.

Atlas Shrugged: Intended to be in Chinese Democracy so finished also.

The General: Played at a party, for sure completed.

Soul Monster: Axl talking about one of the heaviest things he have done and also saying that he sang the chorus on Christmas makes me believe is finished also.

Oklahoma/Berlin: We have only heard an instrumental but was put it as an alternate song to Rhiad in House of Blues concert 2001 (some forum members here I think that confirm this), also the fact It has lyrics makes me believe It is finished for sure.

As It Began: There was a song played in the Vienna party where The General was played and someone described It as a piano song, the fact that Ron confirmed that nothing new was created from 2008-2014 makes me believe It could be this tune, even if this one is not sure there is for sure another song with vocals because if It is played in a party It has to be finished I think

State of Grace: It has scratch vocals, the fact that has vocals makes me believe It was finished in a later time.

Quick Song: Axl talked about in 2008, and has like a melody voice put in the version leaked, probably finished in a later time.

Oh My God: We already hear it and seems like a personal favourite tune from Axl

Seven: Brian talked about It when he was questioned about what tracks he liked more, I think that if he named It's because It is finished.

I leave my opinion here about this topic that has been discussed almost every year, if somebody thinks something is incorrect or has something that I can add, just quote me, thanks!

Nice work mate!

I think that The General is a song about 7 minutes or something like that, but there are not too much vocals recorded, I think It is principally a lot of instrumental, that also makes sense on why It's in the setlist.

Thanks man, I don't doubt that there are words that are wrong, but pretty sure at least a few of them are right.

It's easy that some words are incorrect just because of the audio is difficult to understand, but your work is excellent I repeat, now we have a better idea of the song!

I hope the band get something out. It feels like this post CD era has gone on forever, and the clip does sound good.

I'd like to see them move on to something new

It has went on forever....it's now lasted longer than the classic run. If you place the current timeline on top of the classic timeline, we're currently in 1994.

Imagine 87-94 with two songs....

I worry about the General. It’s been built up by the fan base so much over the years it’s never going to live up to it.

Prostitute pre 2008 vibes.

Definitely.

That situation taught me a lesson....I knew whatever was in the vault could not live up to the "earth shattering" and "mind blowing epics" hype.

So far it hasn't.... but that Oklahoma instrumental is bad ass....major potential...but shit vocals/lyrics could easily ruin it. There has to be a reason it didn't make the cut 15 years ago.

Soul Monster has some potential as well but again...has to be a reason these didn't make the cut.

Were people disappointed  in Prostitute because they thought it wasn't a quality track or because they were expecting a sleazy rocker based off the title? I wasn't in the fandom at the time.

It's hype 20+ years ago was off the charts. Its description made it sound like it would be something like Slayer meets The Cure.

When the skwerl leak happened, it was obviously Prostitute and I knew why they were denying it.  It would deflate the myth of CD once and for all.

Everyone thought Prostitute was going to be the next Jungle. Same with Sorry. It was not, in fact, doom metal 16

I mocked Baz for that description as well... until hearing the Village Sessions demo. The original instrumental has a doom metal vibe.

Dani...and anyone else who just joined... welcome to the forum.  smile

Thank you!
In my opinion, Axl always try to reserve potential good songs for future albums as he did with Don't Cry, November Rain.

I think Oklahoma could potentially be one of the best Guns N Roses songs, that instrumental seems perfect to me and very suitable to slash style.
Also Perhaps is not a bad song and could have replaced some songs from Chinese.
State of Grace with some work could have also entered in Chinese.
But I think the fact is when I listen to Chinese, the songs that completed the album are totally different from the ones that have been left, Oklahoma, State of Grace, Perhaps,  Soul Monster... This ones are kind of a different approach, something more complex or I don't know how to explain It correctly, that leads to a hype to hear The General or Seven or the ones that I mention before, because of they seem more epic.
I hope that I have explained myself!

I'm really hoping we get The General or Oklahoma or something where we haven't already heard the lyrics in a demo (yes, I know, it's our own fault for listening to the demos...).

I think that we would get for sure The General and Perhaps, and my hopes are for Oklahoma also, I think that's the song that fits perfectly with Slash!
