Sorry I did mean to post the Boris Johnson into the regular Covid thread, a bit more topical to that.

People are going to die. Roughly 2-3% of those testing positive meaning likely far less than 1% of the population because the rest of us aren't even getting tested. They are inflating the numbers by listing it as the cause of death for anyone positive regardless of the reason they died. People die every day from a multitude of things. Are we just supposed to stop living and sit at home for the rest of our lives? There's no chance people will do that through the summer.
Fear is an ugly thing and it makes people extremely mentally unstable. I'm way more worried about what happens if people don't come to their senses and get back to normal life than I am the virus.
Thats a pretty abstract post for just 'Boris Johnson placed in ICU'
A 'wow, ashame, hope he makes out ok' wouldve been nice

Boris Johnson moved to ICU.

Regardless of what he is as a person, I wouldn't wish ill on anyone.
It is pretty surreal.
I found the The Queen Speech earlier on quite emotional. She has given the big broadcast speech only 4 times before, the first of which was in 1940 during ww2. She really is ingrained in the countries history.
Worth saying since the lockdown, more and more people have been going out. Families out for walks and pensioners, groups ect.
This is not working.
WW2?? Wow, she's been around a while. Didnt realize she became Queen in 1952. Thats impressive. Before Elvis & Rock n Roll

Isnt one theory the lab sold the lab bats kinda on the side, and they ended up in the street markets?
I dunno if true or what. Ill say, its all not entirely unreasonable, the lab thing itself. Imagine if it first came out of Boston, and Boston U had a well known lab program that studied the flu. If u lived in Boston, and worked at the college, you could probably guess pretty well what occured and who might work in that lab.
I really doubt they hired some wacko who created this mess in a coupla days/weeks. Its probably a position they always hire for each year/flu season. Maybe to help find that years strain or predict next years. I could prolly search ads in NYC for this winter related to the flu, and HHS and have it look like someone went rogue.
Yeah, its scary going out for groceries. I mean, Im not 'scared' but it sucks having to go & coincidentally i had a few of the cheaper facemasks from before so i wear one. Last night ran out for milk & oj at a gas station but pissed i didnt wear it. Figured id rather pay more at a gas station than walk thru a crowded market but cant be too safe.
Look at it this way tho, 18,000, 13 have it, maybe none dead. Lets say 1, thatd be like being at a NBA or NHL game and your chosen for the halftime contest or something. Never happens, right?

Looks like the virus could have been accidentally released from a lab in Wuhan after all.
Why, whatd you hear?

A governor (should) knows their state's needs better than the president. I can't think of a situation in our history where all fifty governors are going to the president all at once asking for the same help.
New York City alone, according to the 2010 Census, has now become home to more than one million Asian Americans, greater than the combined totals of San Francisco and Los Angeles. New York contains the highest total Asian population of any U.S. city proper. - Wikipedia
Well, there's that. Surprises even me.

I don’t like Trump using the guise of a Coronavirus update to boast about more security on the border. I get he can’t be optimistic when he knows 50k people are going to die in the next 3 weeks. But this is a distraction- a political one, and I can’t support that.
Definitely a political/re-election move.
I'll say this tho, this Coronavirus isn't helping Biden either. Was there a rumor floating this was a ruse to get Cuomo back in the primary on brokered convention? He'd be a better nominee overall but not sure overriding the popular vote is the way for Dems to go about it.
Someone will run 3rd party. Bill Gates is in the back of my mind.

Looks about right. I believe after Memorial Day is when alot of ''temporary telecommuters' go back to work & offices reopen. Retail occurs beforehand, early May, but in an abundance of caution & convenience of the holiday, they wait till after.
