I'm holding off on reading the books until the series is over just to keep things straight for me. It will be interesting to see how the stories and themes differ.
I guess to me the unrealistic nature of some of the events doesn't really bother me. I notice some/most of them, but I try to just enjoy the story for what it is. I do the same thing with Star Wars. I mean sure, you can get all upset about things that aren't the way you wish they were done or you can just enjoy it for what it is. It's not perfect. Some of the writing is bad. Almost all of it is unrealistic. It's just a story to distract you from real life for a little bit. I prefer that to much of what's going on in the real world these days. I've watched the whole series start to finish 3 times now. I may watch it all again before the new season starts...at the very least I'll rewatch the last season. It's an interesting story with interesting characters. I don't understand the need to drill down to every minute detail, but I'm not sure I like anything enough to dig into that level of detail.
Edit: now when I say I've watched it 3 times, I've had it on 3 times, but I am always doing something else at the same time...usually playing PS4 on the other TV. I can't sit there and watch anything for that long without doing something else...way too ADD for that even though I've never been diagnosed.

We all acknowledge that there's absolutely nothing he can do short of dying that will make you happy. I've just saved you from having to post in this thread until the next election. Use that time to learn something about politics instead of repeating what you hear from your liberal sources as fact.
Trump is a criminal, pathological liar, racist and traitor to this country.
No "liberal source" needed, you can read plenty of conservatives say this, in fact the WSJ has played a pivotal role in breaking stories about this lunatic. One conservative after another has been cited here, one conservative after another have brought charges against Trump's inner most circle, one conservative after another has said we should vote for Democrats in the last election. You weirdos ignore this and claim they're all bias or dishonest.
You seem upset that people are telling the truth about Trump and want to lash out at them instead. Says a lot about you...
No, I don't care what people call him. I didn't vote for him nor will I vote for him. You also have this misconception that anyone that doesn't repeat the same hatred over and over loves trump. You guys are the real idiots because most people understand what trump is. You guys act like any trump news is shocking when it happens, but it isn't. He was this way as a Democrat too...dont forget he was one of you until very recently.
All those things you claim he is, Hillary is too. Every single one of them. Where are your posts blasting her? Nowhere? Because it's okay to be all of those things as long as they are on your side? See, I blast you guys because I know what they are, but clearly you guys don't . Politicians don't get to the national level without being pathological liars and in many cases criminals. I'd also make the case that they are all traitors (using your loose definition) as they certainly aren't doing what is best for Americans.
But you keep living in your fantasy world where your side is right and the ends justify the means. I'll keep doing my thing and we'll continue the same posts for another 3+ years. It's a lot less time consuming for me than it is for you.

You dont learn because you're in complete denial about anything that doesn't align 100% with your vision (whatever that is).
According to you, I love trump because I don't blast him on a daily basis. That is 100% your logic and you refuse to understand that there are a lot more people out there that feel like I do than think like you do. The wheel is broken. That's not an opinion. Trump is president because of the broken wheel. 2+ years of me telling you to try to understand what happened and why it happened, your hateful mind hasn't given it a moment of thought. Trump sucks...that's all you see and nothing else matters to you.
I'm pretty sure I never applauded Hillary getting roasted, though she deserved it every bit as much as trump does. Like usual I don't care...that's nothing more than politics as usual. My "bias" as you call it is that I don't blast trump. Nope. I've checked out on politics for the most part because the wheel is broken. I don't care what he does. As far as I'm concerned anything that gets more people to realize the wheel is broken is okay in my book. Hopefully you get it before too much damage is done so you can be part of the solution instead of being the poster child for the problem.

TL...didn't read the whole thing, but the ending is more or less spot on. Mitch is so full of hate that he can't even make a reasonable response to my post. He's not interested in conversation or improving anything unless it's 100% on his terms, which isn't how things work.

The difference is a narcissist that many people hate for no logical reason posted it, so it's an opportunity for ridicule. Shit like this thread is exactly why we are where we are and exactly why Trump won an election that he never should have been in much less won. The blind hatred isn't accomplishing anything it's intended to do. It's just feeding his supporters.
What's also a little ironic is right now the Democratic party isn't far off from where the Republican party was said to be not too long before the election. Chaos. Division within the ranks. Extremists taking control. It will be interesting to see how it plays out for them. My guess is if they try to go too far down the socialism road, they will get squashed. There are a lot of people that are Democrats that understand that won't work and that there's no math that can make it work. Eventually they will abandon the party or at the very least not show up to support it if they push that too far. If Bernie's people hadn't abandoned Hillary, she would be President right now. I'm not sure we'd be any better or any worse off than we are now, but things would certainly have been different.
The political machine is just a wheel that keeps spinning. One side wins, doom is declared for the other. Bad stuff happens when that side has complete control and we shift back to the other side. The same thing happens over and over, yet nobody can seem to have sense enough to see that and/or do anything about it to balance things out. We can't have full Republican control any more than we can have full Democratic control. Neither is good. This swinging out of control back and forth isn't good either. I've said this over and over in different ways, but we're all screwed until enough people understand what is actually happening.

I actually met him and talked to him for a few minutes several years ago...when Empire first came out. I really didn't know who he was, but he was soft-spoken, polite, and was genuinely interested in giving back to the African-American community (the event I was at was not limited to but definitely focused on that community).
I think he made a mistake. Granted a pretty big mistake, but a mistake nonetheless. It's actually a perfect example of people trying to create something out of nothing. There are plenty of racist things happening from multiple sides of the coin. There are plenty of anti-gay people out there. I don't understand why the need to create something out of nothing instead of using your fame to bring attention to the things that are actually happening. This just destroys the credibility of the times when something actually happens.
I don't think he should be charged with a hate crime. I think that's overstepping the intent of the law (though I admit I do not know the letter of the law). I do think he should be charged appropriately and given whatever the maximum penalty is for false reports or whatever. Now had this escalated to riots and things like that, then he might deserve the hate crime charges, but fortunately for him (and everyone) that didn't happen. I don't believe in making an example out of everyone that makes a bad decision provided there were minimal side-effects from his actions. He made a bad decision and he's going to pay for that decision for the rest of his life and his career is likely over or will certainly suffer as a result. Too bad he's not an elite athlete...someone would be willing to overlook this to give him another opportunity in that line of work.

All in the Family made fun of people like you. Archie Bunker was a character. You understand this right?
Made fun of people like me? You don't even know me.

Sexual assault claims against a Dem in VA. Can't wait to see how the Dems handle this one. I'm sure they'll believe any and all accusations...

All the shit in this thread and this is where we're going to draw the line? Equally brilliant.
