I think the massive shutdowns will begin to show an impact in about a week. In areas that did it at least (me). Interstate travel & states who did not impose it will lag, and the shutdowns extend, but I believe next week will be about the peak. April 30 sounds close to right, with most states & businesses extending it. Personally I think alot of offices resume mid May or after Memorial Day.

Um, that's... that's kinda how every vaccine works. The MMR vaccine, the polio vaccine, DTaP, they're giving you weak or even dead doses of the virus so your body's immune system attacks and kills it, and thus maintains the antibodies required to kill them off in perpetuity.
I don't have kids, and haven't gotten a vaccine shot since I was probably 10, so it never really crosses my mind.

I don't think I've ever gotten one. Only in the last few years I'd heard its actually 'injecting you' with the flu, so to speak. That kinda disgusted me a bit, not to be an anti-vaccine type or anything. Anyway, I was pretty sick in December & kinda was once or twice the last few years or so, whereas in the past I almost never get sick. (I go years without really taking a sick day, same with school).
Next year tho I likely will, although I'm sorta nervous they're gonna beta test this Covid19 for it.

I think those asian style facemasks will be somewhat popular next winter/flu season

I view it like this, I think out of abundance of caution, the country will stay shut thru April. IMHO it'll be May when things re-open, possibly mid-May but maybe just till after Memorial Day. Stores & restaurants as well as service jobs open earlier, but people who are currently telecommuting & working from home will stay out of caution. I think schools are shut down for the summer. Heavy vacations & flying won't happen until mid-Julyish, and be way less than past years. Concerts & baseball the same. Man, MLB did not need this, it'll be hard for them to recover, they've been losing fans & the younger generation each year. Hopefully their playoffs are good.
NFL's opening day might kinda be the bonding moment we all need.
Next winters a fear. I suppose we can monitor how Australia & South Africa as well as far S America do in their winter & if it lingers into Sept Oct in their seasons, or passes. China & Asia as well.

Personally, I think all this money should go to unemployment & people out of work. Restaurants & retail won't reopen anytime soon, and even when they do it won't be the same. Myb a bounce at first to support them, but people will be cautious & avoid mass interaction, especially if it lingers in the warm season which it seems it does. Next winters going to be fearful.

In 3 weeks, nearly every other state will be saying the same thing. Heck Mississipi & Missouri's Govs are deniers, keeping their states open. Shit'll hit the fan real quick.
FWIW, sad. This one cuts deep:
A record 3.28 million Americans filed new claims for unemployment insurance last week.
The most ever in a single week. Quadruple the previous record in 1982. Double what economists expected.
