But it won't be done well. Too many haunted house-style horror movies rely on CGI to get the job done today. Unfortunately, CGI has no real place in this type of horror (or any real horror, but I'll argue that another time). An over-reliance on CGI and jump scares is what crippled Alex Aja's Mirrors, which deeply, deeply disappointed me. There is no way you're going to see a remake of Poltergeist with the same atmosphere and daring visuals as the original.

The second and third have their charm, moreso the second, which falls into that so bad it's good category. At least I think that was somewhat on purpose. I was really disappointed in the trailer for Return to Sleepaway Camp. I'd been looking forward to that, too.
The Survivor is unwatchable.

James, are you a Sleepaway Camp fan? For real? I love Sleepaway Camp. I watch my box set all the time, but I didn't know too many people who were into it, too.

Would anyone else like to know why he talks like the Sheriff of Nottingham? Just me?

Can someone change my name to W. Axl Rose until about 11:30 tonight so I can fire this whacko?

It would be interesting to see what they do with this. Its kinda OT but what would you horror buffs say the best haunted house flick is?
Not a haunted house flick per se, but I love Polanski's The Tenant. You could argue Kubrick's The Shining as a haunted house flick, too. But you know what? I've always enjoyed the original Amityville Horror. I don't care how many detractors it has.

Just what we need, another unwanted remake. And from the writers of Boogeyman, no less. Oh ... good.
#838 Re: The Sunset Strip » Bob Saget roast - Norm Macdonald's set » 925 weeks ago
I actually laughed pretty hard the whole time. It's just Norm's humor, which admittedly isn't for everyone. Like it's been said, he threw his set on purpose and it worked to its intended effect. It was funnier than the tired crap they keep rolling out on every roast. I think Norm's set was as much a lampoon of the roasts themselves as it was Bob Saget and even himself.

What James said. That's just blatantly disrespectful to the line up that recorded that landmark album. There's a morbid curiosity to hear this re-recorded AFD, but let it leak and let it be. The hardcore can seek it out. Don't confuse the general public anymore than they already are.

I believe so, yes.
