It's nuts. But my only guess is they are trying to get out front on this.

Jr. has hired a criminal attorney now, and my guess is they would rather try and be open (haha, sure) about this, then have the NYT kill them with a 1000 cuts/a new article every three days.

What was illegal?  What did he do that the Clinton campaign didn't do with Ukraine and the piss dossier SLC loves?

I'm genuinely asking. What law was broken?

The lead prosecutor from Watergate says it's a crime. Along with W's previous ethics lawyer. That's good enough for me. We'll have to see what the investigation concludes.

More "whataboutism." The two instances are nothing alike. Did you read that article? You're a one trick pony with this, sad!

And quit lying about the dossier, I've barely mentioned it...lyin' Randy.

While right wing dolts flock to their echo chambers and get their ideas from safe spaces on youtube, real news is emerging once again.

NYT today: An email from the Kremlin to the Trump campaign, in particular Don Jr., letting them know that the Russian government wanted to assist Trump in winning the election. Not only that, but the Russian government was the source of the information (on Hilary.) Both Kushner and Manafort were at this meeting. The notion that Donald Trump wasn't aware of this meeting is ludicrous.

By the way, this isn't from "intel sources" this is confirmed by people working for Donald Trump.

It doesn't matter if "Donald Trump" himself, or "Donald Trumps campaign staffers (and family)" are under investigation. It's the same fucking thing!

Correct. If his admin is under the microscope, then Trump is too, if indirectly.

File that under "duh."

You're only aware of this because the government is turning over every stone.  Why don't you wait for them to make an accusation before the people who've never set foot in the white house, pentagon, capitol building or supreme court conjure up theories on what could happen.  You guys are as bad as the National Enquirer or whatever tabloid magazine runs a story on why Jennifer Aniston is or isn't pregnant this week.

The story was confirmed by Trump's own people, and of course Donny Jr.

W's ethics lawyer says this is tantamount to treason.

Anything else you'd like to add?

Lyin' Randy just can't help himself. It was repeated to you then, and it has been repeated since, nobody was claiming Trump specifically was under investigation. Although his administration was.

This is all pathetic really. You split hairs and play word games so you can attack strawmen. When news comes to light, you ignore it, demand more "evidence" and continue to lie about the past.

How many times must the people you attack tell you that's not what they were claiming? I guess you wouldn't have anything without your lies. You might as well just argue with  yourself, speaking for us on our behalf.

This is what I'm saying. Deflect, deflect, deflect.

Donny Jr. himself admitted to meeting a Kremlin connected lawyer to get dirt on Hillary before the election. How much more "proof" do you need?

A patriotic American would have called the state department or FBI, not run out to meet with the Russians.

For starters he placed sanctions onto Russia.

And kicked the Russians out of America immediately.

You know what else happened immediately when Trump took office? He wanted to re-open that same Russian compound, much to the chagrin of everybody at his side. (That article was posted here btw, ignored by the "conservatives.")

PaSnow wrote:

I think that story is going to get big. And a bit of a turning point in all this. House & Senate seem to all be sorta jumping ship from the Trumps..

Notice though, as I said, how they both totally ignore that story and go to their usual shticks.

NYT and WaPo ran an article today about Donald Jr. colluding with a Russian lawyer to get dirt on Hillary before the election. He now claims she didn't offer anything worthwhile.

Pretty big story.

We've actually  had quite a few big stories over the last couple of months. If you notice what the righties here do is create a wall of noise. They want to drown it all out. Huge walls of texts, non sequitur after another, bullshit talking points, talk about Obama...Hillary...anything and everything to shut down the Trump talk. Don't let these nutjobs divert attention away from what is happening right now.

Is the Russian investigation pretty much over now in regards to Trump?

It's barely started.

We need some bandaids on Obama care no matter how fucking shitty the concept is. But I know many want to just watch it implode so we can start fresh. I just worry some folks may fall through the cracks in that situation.

It's only "imploding" because Republicans (led by Rubio) stiffed the insurers and broke the promises made inside the law. The same thing was done for Medicare part D when W was president and they expanded Medicaid/Medicare (socialism-gasp!) but they were fine with it back then.

As anybody watching can attest to: the GOP stand for nothing. As long as Obama was in favor of it, they were now against it.

What they did to the ACA hurt consumers, hurt business and potentially killed people. Of course then they blamed it on Obama and claim it's "imploding." Insurers raise prices or get out of the exchanges. That's what happens when they aren't paid, and that's why they are suing the government for non payment.

No law is perfect. Laws have been tweaked over the years. But the difference is there were not Mitch McConnells back then. There wasn't the "freedom caucus" or Fox News.
