Is that the longest GNR show ever or does that Japan one from 09 still beat it?
Tokyo was 3 hours 37 mins so this one tops it.

Live streaming, but GNR is late so it's still radio so far.

I don't think Slash gives a flying fuuuuuuuck about doing an album after this tour. Anything he does now is charity work.
Not for the money. Slash keeps himself clean by keeping busy.
He also loves playing.
I think he'll keep making movies and music until health issues stop him.

I think the politics are too strong for any new music to ever be released and am not convinced Axl has the band to do it but hey, surprise me.
My thinking is if CD could eventually come out despite that not being the "real" band AND most of the performances on it being played by people who were no longer in the "new" band either then it's politically possible for anything to happen.
As for not having the band to make new music - not sure what you mean there - Axl has a remix album in the can, and somewhere between an album or more of writtenand recorded songs from the CD sessions, god knows how many unfinished partial song ideas lying around and probably classic stuff from the late 90s attempts to record too.
On top of that he has Melissa to help with whatever synth direction he might fancy, and, need I mention the ace in the back pocket? Back in the band he has Slash - a prolific monster riff writer and pretty much now THE rock guitarist of his generation - who just happens to out put a new album of riffs every 2 or 3 years and has been dormant for the past few during the reunion.
On top of that he now has hundreds of millions of dollars to self finance any whim that takes his fancy and a reinvigorated public begging for new content.
If new music doesn't come out, it's not because he doesn't have the band and the resources to do it.

What credible evidence do we have to believe that Angus is willing to regroup AC/DC within few months after having lost two brothers ?
He put out "Back in Black" less than 5 months after Bon Scott died.
He recorded "Rock or Bust" less than a month after going public with Malcom's illness, and launched the world tour months after Malcolm was hospitalised.
Honestly I could see it going either way, obviously from one perspective it's a natural end point, on the other hand, Angus' pattern has always been to carry on in the face of disaster and he might even consider it important to persist as a tribute to Malcom. Who knows.

Yeah I could see Axl/Dc going either way.
There's grounds to retire and call it a career and see your family after a life of touring. That would keep the purists happy too - as the Axl shows were justifiable as Angus said "you can't name it rock or bust then go bust" - but a full Axl led album would certainly anger some of the hardcores.
On the other hand Angus has always been driven to continue this band. They continued after Bon died. They continued with a new record once Malcom was sick (which is also something purists thought would never happen) and they continued out their commitments even once Brian was down. That's hard to imagine a few years back. So it also wouldn't be at all surprising if they kept on keeping on and moved forward.
I can see Angus deciding he has one more cycle left in him - he loves playing - is a classic rock icon now - he doesn't have much to lose even if hardcores bitch about it. He's probably got 5-10 more years in him - he seems the type to use it.
GNR on the other hand is hard to predict. For what it's worth Axl said at the china exchange that one day he wants to release more music. But if that good intention translates to anything or not is anyone's guess.

This is my guess:
2018 : Nothing happens GNR except for those mid year shows. late year Slash does a solo album with Myles and spends the next 8-12 months playing theatres with Myles getting back to his roots.
2019: Axl/Dc releases an album and does a tour for 12 months or so. Slash is finishing up his Myles Run.
2020 to 2021 - Nothing really happens aside from the occasional GNR gig at a festival or maybe short runs in specific places like vegas. Think 2012 era GNR but now with Slash/Duff. Probably better venues...but I mean those kinda years where it's not nothing but it's not a full tour either.
2022. Nothing much happens. Silence and Rumours.
2023. GNR project of some kind launches. Either a new album (please) or more likely some type of Greatest Hits or Farewell Tour.
*Then blow out any of those timelines by 2-3 years for mismanagement and self harming behaviours and you have GNR

Axl sounds great, the band is on fire...what more can you possibly want out of a show?
Matt Sorum

Call me crazy but the show was almost too long.
Yeah I thought that too.
It seems kinda counter-intuitive though to think we should get less for our bucks. But it's a long night there. I think it's partly that there's a LOT of ballads - like NR, Estranged, KOHD (extended version), often Prostitute or Twat, Patience, Layla Outro, Wish you were here, - all songs we love but it's a lot of slow numbers in close succession.
Having been to the show and watched a ton of boots, my opinion is that the first half of the show is a lot more dynamic - like the first 5-6 songs kill every night. Fucking awesome stuff. But then the last half does drag a bit. Obviously fans are going to want NR and that kinda stuff kept - but I'd maybe space it out a bit different so there's some more rocky stuff in the second half. There's PC and Nighttrain but the rest of them are slow as fuck like Witchapotoa Lineman or whatever
Still that's a minor complaint over all.
My opinion is these shows are great when Axl has been having a good night. The raspy ones are fucking epic. The mickey nights not as much.
My only real malfunction is that it was a wasted opportunity not to do a comeback single or record. I know they didn't need to financially. But most other bands did. It would have given the band new life.
