They could be the best of friends and it wouldn't matter. They're not in their 20s crashing on each other's sofas anymore.
Look at Metallica, those guys still get along to a much better extent than GN'R. They aren't hanging around with acoustic guitars and jamming, but are coming to their writing sessions with ideas they each worked up. Some shit may get done together whilst in the studio but they're not doing shit the way they used to.
They have families and separate lives now. And rightly so they're all 50+.
It's not necessarily friendship, but work. Bands are a business, their day job is to write songs, record, release and tour.

I think the hardcore fan base can afford a full on Misery on them.. with what people were willing to pay for that AFD boxset (must admit, it's still on my list lol) and the bullshit VIP tickets, yeah I think we can do that.
What still be better, a Kickstarter or GoFundMe campaign?

If you look at it practically, he shouldn't- he's got a day job which is probably paying nice.
If you're not one of the writers, it doesn't matter if you've played on the track or not.. (I think that Brian talked about it a while ago)

The Rock in Rio 2011 rehearsal version is a lot like the changes Silkworms got. More riffy and classic.

It really is bizarre when you think about it...
Slash, Duff, and Izzy with the wisecracks about grunge/industrial in the late 90s.
Fast forward 20 years....
Reunion is here and they break the ice about a new record.
They are shown the songs they would've worked on had they never left in the first place.

I guess you can say that Axl has won.. and it only took him 25 years!
I believe it was you who said that they should've taken a break at the time (95-97), work on their solo stuff for a while then regroup for one hell of an album. Oh well
