#81 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash to tour this summer in the US with Aerosmith » 593 weeks ago
According to Slash2baz, the admin of SlashFrance
Oh and I've heard the Conspirators will try to bring a couple of "new Use Your Illusion" songs in the setlist.
Last year, the guys told me about "You Could Be Mine" or "Pretty Tied Up"...wait and see !

#83 Re: Guns N' Roses » Duff McKagan on tour with GNR? » 593 weeks ago
That's probably the only other thing that would excite me about Duff returning, he was one of the writers in the original line up, though with probably not as much weight as Slash and Izzy, he did write songs like It's So Easy, and co-wrote a lot of great tunes as well.
Maybe the weight would be off Axl's shoulders somewhat if Duff was writing with him again
I think the importance of Duff in GN'R is underrated. Everybody knows that Slash wrote the most important riffs, those awesome solos and he made Izzy's simple Stonesy "songs" heavy and bluesy. Everybody knows that Izzy was writing all the time and watered Slash's songs to be more mainstream. Everybody knows that Axl wrote his epics and was some kind of supervisor regarding the others' songs and ideas.
But it was really Duff who made that rhythm. His solo albums and Loaded (and occasionally VR) have the same pulsing as the GN'R songs. You can clearly hear that most of the notes are typical Aerosmith/Zeppelin-type of Slash tunes, but the rhythm is different and it makes them unique and not ...well, let's say..."traditional". He made it GN'R.

Fortus says it every year. Nothing happens. Plans can change in Axl's world, and they do change all the time, but this is't even a plan, just some bullshit to the fans.
#85 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR to perform at Golden Gods award show/ lifetime achievement for Axl » 594 weeks ago
He tried really hard I think so I respect that. Duff was awesome.
Bumble and Fortus was good, too. Frank just can't play YCBM and has problems with other songs. Dizzy and Pitman...any backup musician could do their job. DJ was horrible.

If some of you think that a mentally healthy man looks and performs like this, then good for you. I'll stay living in reality though.

Yep, this is the demeanor of someone staring a deteriorating and depressed man in the face.

Axl is getting old trying to sing songs crafted around his prime vocal abilities. And yes, like most 50 year olds he's a bit chubby and don't give a fuck. It's not the four horsemen of the Apocalypse.
I'm convinced: it's the happiest hat I've even seen.
Axl looks 10 years older than he actually is. It's really surprising, since he has all the money and time on Earth to get the best care possible. Instead he's a bloated, depressed alcoholic, who's a shadow of his former self and can't do his job anymore on a decent level. He's horrible tbh.
Just look at him singing those songs - it's like he'd be utterly sad how it all turned out. Noone thought he'd ever sink this low. People thought of Slash, Steven, Duff dying young or becoming zombies. Instead Duff looks amazing, Slash looks alright nad even Steven is in better shape than Axl. I'm really sorry for him and I think that Duff may feel himself guilty. Axl did a lot of shit against them, for sure, but since they, Izzy, Slash and Duff abandoned him, he's lost himself.
It's not the end of the world, you're right, just a very talented man wasting his gift and going to the Elvis route.

#90 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Top 15 Non GNR Slash tunes » 594 weeks ago
Great idea! But making a list of Slash's best 15 non-GN'R tracks is almost as hard as a GN'R list would be.
Here they are (in no order)
Neither Can I
Good to be Alive
Back and Forth Again
Shine
Serial Killer
Ain't Life Grand?
Messages
Starlight
By The Sword
Watch This
Saint Is A Sinner
No More Heroes
Anastacia
Always on the Run
Obsession Confession
I didn't list Vocalise and Hey Joe, since those are covers.
