Well, This I love still doesnt do it for me. Its ridiculous, and the solo really isnt up to par. Guns solos have often been a song in themselves, memorable and hummable, this is neither. Shame. Am I the only one that doesnt like this song? Hell I dont even like Better either. I guess I'm fucked.
Still cant believe the whole thing hasnt leaked. Del & Beta must be earning a wage cancelling torrents all over the place.

I thought the song completely sucked when I first heard it, but like it a bit more now. It's still unbearably cheesy of course, but Finck did well with the solo, IMO.
Yeah ever since you said it sounded like Phantom of the Opera (and not the awesome Maiden tune of the same name) I cant get past the awful Lloyd Webber thing. Its just beyond cheese and imo too embarassing to be tagged to the GNR name. Just my opinion of course folks!

Quality, thats funny. I could imagine Dusty Bin replacing Finck - he has a GNR type name and no doubt the same technical skills.

You do make valid points about Finck. The guy has always had that goth look to him, except for his final couple years in GNR. 06-07 wasn't his 'natural' look. The moment he bails on GNR, he's back to his same old shit. I have nothing against someone looking how they want, but when you're obviously presenting yourself in a way that isn't natural to you, it makes the whole thing so inauthentic. People can bitch and moan about top hats and buckets all they want, but at least those two don't back off from what they want themselves presented as.
Valid points indeed. I've never been a Finck supporter for several reasons, the main being his poor abilities to play what he's supposed to play properly. His solo spots live were always utter shit too. The thing at Hammersmith just made me want to weep tears of rage.
The guy has always screamed fake to me, fair enough he looked like a gay bin bag in 2002 but that was his image, I didnt like it but nevermind... Then he comes back in 2006 looking like a try hard 'rock star' with the beard and all that and it was just contrived and false. Ridiculous. If you want a real guitar hero Axl you know where to look - just dont try to build one out of the contents of the dressing up box.
Of course image should be second to the music, but Finck stiffed on both levels.

What a guy. Cryptic nonsense means nothing, if he had any decent info why not just say it. Its annoying..... '13 points of light blah blah blah'. Oh whoops theres actually 14 songs on the album mate. Bad luck! Its almost as good as the 'Izzy's housekeeper said....'
If he was Axl I'm sure he'd have a lot more to say than those nonsense ramblings. Thats if he didnt have a nervous breakdown of course, being that we are allowed to post reviews that arent 100% praise etc etc.
