Let me guess... Some actually like that better than what's originally there?

What crazy SOB did this? Quite contraversial.....

I have listened though and gotta say Im happy it was Bucket and not Slash on CD.
Dont get me wrong I heart the shit outa slash. He just does not fit this record. CD is a different animal. Its a mythical beast. The body of an ancient Lion steeped in the Traditions of the past with the Head of a Glorious Eagle full of modern notions and forward thinking aerodynamic acrobatics....

Actually to be fair it is a crime that Ritual de lo Habitual didn't make the  shortlist but water under a very dodgy bridge I suppose

Ten should have gone long ago. I personally prefer Illusions 2 to 1 but it seems that's prob gonna be the first of the 2 to go. Im gonna jump ahead and predict that Ten goes this round, Black album in the NExt followed By Illusions 2 and number 1 goes to Illusions 1

Frameshift -Absence of Empathy

The best project this man has ever leant his pipes too.
Just the first few notes should be enough to grab any music fan. This is a truly amazing piece of music his vocals are out of this world on it.

If you got the time give it a spin. If your in a hurry just take in the first minute and a half of it

Either way the song is a masterpiece

I was 16 when Contraband came out and it was a huge deal for me. It was the heaviest album I had actually listened to at that time and it opened doors for me.

Personally I hope that the new solo record from Slash is as hard hitting. I have a feeling in the pit of my stomach however that it could be quite a poppy affair.

Im not sure why. May be its because of Slash's new found "mainstream" rock icon status thanks to guitar hero and numerous guest spots on dodgy records. I have the feeling that maybe he will try court more mainstream attention on this.

I know people are gonna say it cannot possibly be poppy with Ozzy M.Shadows and Chris Cornell singing vocals ... But in recent memory Ozzy released a popy re-do of Changes with his Daughter, M.Shadows guested on a Good Charlotte record and Chris Cornell made an album with timbaland 10

To be honest the only guest on this album who hasn't "Sold out" (for want of a better word) is Fergie. She has always been true to her roots hmm

I hope its not poppy but to be honest his more mainstream material (songs like Fall to Pieces, Last Fight and Ain't Life Grand) have all been pretty damn good. But I really hope he just blows my head off like his playing on contraband did.

I did catch that tweet about him saying he just wrote the heaviest song of his career for the new disk, bodes well I suppose. I sometimes find that when an artist approaches an album with a something for everyone perspective the album can be inconsistent and patchy as a result too. Realistically I'd say that if I were in Slash's position i would go for a "something for everyone" type approach. To appease fans from all eras GNR VR and the new Guitar Hero horde.

Anyway, Im looking forward to this album, its been 2004 since the man released anything of impact (besides his guest spot on ALice Coopers Along Came a Spider which was sexual). Mind you I don't blame him for a moment. I think contraband worked so well cos Slash and Duff wrote the music while Scott just sang and did lyrics. If the same process had been used for libertad I have no doubt we would have gotten another gem.
