#911 Re: Guns N' Roses » Angel Down Selling Out » 930 weeks ago
My assumption is that the record company didn't expect this to sell as well as it is. It might have to do with the fact that there was very little promotion and it wasn't an album that the mainstream was looking forward to. Hardcore GNR and Axl fans are snapping this one up, causing them to sell more than expected. I haven't been to a record store in the last few days. Maybe I'll check out a couple here and get the scoop or even see if it was available here in the first place. When record stores don't anticipate an album selling a lot, they don't order a lot and they don't run any promotion for it anyway. I'm sure Jani Lane's solo album wasn't in great stock when it was released.

I thought it was "on the wagon?"
Lately I've been trying to quit eating shitty food and snacking. I was great at it for a while, but since September it's come back to haunt me. All has to do with the added stress of school and study and not having time to prepare healthy meals. I'm back at the gym again and I'm hoping this new kick will help me get my eating in line once again.

Saw the movie in theatre last night (highly recommended, I might add). Anyway, when Patrick (Casey Affleck) goes to the shady bar for information, the song is playing in the background. Pretty cool random place to have GNR music in a movie. Awesome that they picked the acoustic version too.

He should've busted it out for Blues Ball tours... that would be so cool!
#920 Re: The Garden » Curvy women produce more intelligent children » 930 weeks ago
This correlation does not indicate a cause-and-effect relationship. Curviness and intellect both have very little to do with genetics (intellect is somewhat genetically linked, whereas the "fat gene" affects less than 0.01% of the population). It all has to do with how the child is raised. My theory is that curvy women tend to spend more time with the child, reading, and encouraging the child to succeed.
And Jessica, I don't understand how a woman becoming intellectually stagnate in her late teens would impact her children. That's like saying if I cut off my ear, my child would be born without an ear. Unless you mean that the woman would neglect the child. I can see the logic in that sense.
