Yeah i wouldn't buy HD-DVD now - even if you get the titles and shit cheap - what happens when the player breaks down? Then you have to throw all those titles in the bin and get them again on Blu

Its true it upconverts...so i guess its a cheap way to get a region free unconverting dvd drive. But then most blu players also upconvert....so i dunno...i'd stay away...the deals look tempting...but will be useless in like 2 years time.

I'll be honest...i'd heard the name Stone Temple Pilots but didn't know the songs except for maybe Interstate love song that i'd heard on the radio and then I didnt know who it was by. So when scott joined VR I checked them out and got into Core and Purple a bit.

My fave song so far is Sex Type Thing (that's a gem!) but also like Crackerman, Dead and Bloated, Plush, Wicked Garden and Meatplow.

I've been told a lot that the other albums are really different...will there be anything for a rocker like me on them?

Ahh ok. See i'm a recent convert. I didn't listen to any whitesnake back in the 80s, but recently i've been trying to take my guitar playing up a notch and have discovered they have killer solos and riffage (not surprising given the line ups they've had over the years)

Anyway...I guess cos of my recent conversion i'm kinda into the current line up with Doug Aldrich...he plays just like i do (only 100 million times better! LOL) a mix of shred and blues...so i'm interested to hear what this line up can deliver album wise!
