Trump literally pushes another leader out of the way, and that NATO speech. Jesus Christ. What an embarrassment.

You keep repeating this over and over about users on this site.  It's a lie. Nobody here is hyperfocused on "coordinating with Russia." There are many moving parts, there is constant breaking news and that is reposted her often and discussed. But nobody has brought all the info together and presented some vast conspiracy. Nobody. So you can cut that out.

Trump has asked a total of four people to make the Russian investigation go away. To me, it's safe to conclude he's obstructed justice.

Comey was fired by Trump. Also obstruction IMO.

Flynn is refusing to cooperate with investigators and will take the 5th. He also sought out a deal which was turned down.

WH peeps are starting to lawyer up.

Brennan testified: I encountered info & intel that revealed "contacts and interactions" between Russian officials and the Trump campaign.

All ICs concluded that Russia interfered with our election via fake news, data mining swing states so they could target those audiences and email leaks.

Trump has Russian business ties. He also refuses to release his tax returns. Trump does give the impression that he is hiding something.

These are some of the things we know right now. Nobody is drawing conclusions, but we are talking about them.

I wonder if MSNBC will run a retraction when Mueller comes back and says Trump didn't collude with Russia.  Probably not, the goal post will be moved further by then.

What an argument: Something that just might happen in the future...maybe.

Get over yourself. The last time a white person blew something up that wasn't Irish, was McVeigh in 95. Everyone here knows who Dylan Roof is. But I bet you don't know the name of the Arab who shot up a gay night club.

They just picked up a neo nazi loser in Florida with explosives and poster of McVeigh at his place. Other plots have also been thrwarted before they occurred. They are out there too. We just happen to catch them before they act here. They also tend to be more prone to using bullets, not bombs.

And law enforcement in America see fringe right wing groups as just as big, if not sometimes more of a threat, than "radical" Islam.

But I disagree with Mole on one point in particular. Religion. The kids they brainwash to do these thing may not necessarily be religious zealots, but they run into the arms of religious zealots, who then brainwash them to carry out these atrocities. And as I said, while many of these are second generation citizens (we agree there), many already identify as Muslim before making the move up to nutjob/mass murderer.

My gut reaction is agreement to a degree. Round 'em up and get the fuck out.

But it's not that simple and frankly it's totally unrealistic. As I said, many are second generation citizens. They were born in the country they attack.

What does shock me though are the European countries who provide extensive welfare to immigrants. I would imagine a lot of Muslims who are hostile towards western society, don't see this as an olive branch, but rather as a weakness.

Perhaps our European members could chime in. But I watched a 60 minute report about "no-go" zones in almost every country over there. I found that shocking to be honest. It seems completely out of control. Muslim enclaves where Sharia law is practiced, crime is rampant, and locals dare not go. The 60 minutes crew was attacked in that segment as well. Muslims marching in the street and saying "death to the UK" under the guise of free speech. In my opinion, if you advocate violence against your own country, you should be expelled, never to return. Adios. But it seems to be tolerated, exploited by the Muslims and allowed to fester.

Great post.  But I have to ask, do you oppose Trump's Immigration EO?

It's poorly executed, and poorly sold. And our vetting process isn't necessarily a cake walk to begin with. Trump is also such a disruptive figure it's not helpful by any means.

The idea behind it though is valid IMO.

There are a great deal of South Americans and Cubans in Miami/S. Fla. A majority of them DO NOT assimilate. Show no interest in it, and the community represents that. I've had meals down there where my waitress doesn't speak a lick of English. Businesses are in Spanish. It's like being in a different country. I've also been in Provo Utah. White bread, blonde haired, blue eyed Mormons are the majority. The Carabbas there does not have  bar. They are not interested in assimilating too much either. When I'm in Miami, or if I'm in Provo I roll with that culture. You assimilate to their culture . That's the reality.

This may really bother some people. However it doesn't bother me that much. That said, neither one of those groups are part of culture that is spreading terror all over the world and partaking in unspeakable acts against human beings. That's the difference to me.

#937 Re: The Garden » Terrorist Attack at Ariana Grande concert » 468 weeks ago

The idea must be destroyed, and I'm not sure how to do that.

A lot of these terror attacks in Europe and America are from second generation citizens. Young men who are radicalized by terrorists online or perhaps in person. That said, I do think it's a bad idea to invite a 7th century culture, steeped in religion, to coincide with a progressive 21 century society. Things take time to change. People resist change. Individually and together as a group. Uneducated people who are brainwashed by religion, who are already suspicious of outsiders, aren't going to assimilate easily or quickly IMO.

They're not going to stop. This will only continue. It's sad and also maddening.

Like an SNL skit...slow reading Trump. Get a load of the ticker. Can't say that I disagree with him. These guys are fucking losers. But it so is anybody who disagrees with him on Twitter. Such gravitas.
