Yep, there's no denying his brilliant talent, that's for sure.
The guy was an awesome guitarist, and I'm bummed out that I never got to see him play live.

Me too...i was always hoping he'd do one of those blues shows down here. Like the "Live Blues" VHS I had back in the day.

makes you think, he plays with BB and he calls him "young man" sad

GARY MOORE's Final Hours Detailed - Feb. 13, 2011
Karen Rice of the U.K.'s Mail Online has penned an extensive article detailing the final days of legendary guitarist Gary Moore with his girlfriend Petra Nioduschewski, who was the last person to see Gary alive at the five-star Kempinski resort on the Costa del Sol in Spain.

A hotel source told the Mail Online, "At around four o'clock in the morning [on Sunday, February 6], [Petra] called for help and a security guard went to the room and found Gary on the bed in his underpants.

"He tried to pump his heart but he was already cold. She was in a bathrobe, completely shocked. She had tried to resuscitate him before the security guard got there. When the ambulance came, they didn't try to shock his heart because he was already gone.'

A friend said: "Petra tried to help Gary. She gave him mouth to mouth and tried his heart until help came — they told her she did everything right. There were no signs of trouble, he had been fine all day and then he just stopped breathing. She knew there was something up when she couldn't hear him breathing any more."

GARY MOORE Left Estate Of More Than $3 Million - Apr. 4, 2011
According to the Belfast Telegraph, former THIN LIZZY guitarist, noted session player, and blues rock icon Gary Moore left an estate worth over £2 million (approximately $3.23 million).

Records released last week show that Moore's estate was worth £2.077 million (approximately $3.36 million) but this was reduced after liabilities to a net figure of £1.021 million (approximately $1.65 million).

According to Ken Sweeney of the Irish Independent, Gary Moore was laid to rest on February 23 in a small village graveyard outside Brighton, England.

Moore's family decided to hold his funeral not in Belfast, Ireland, where he was born, but near where he had made his home in the past 15 years and where his children live.

Lily, one of the guitarist's four children, spoke of her father as "a man with rather colorful shirts, who possessed a childlike quality and was an inspiration to many and the kind of person you could never forget."
