My guess for the two AC/DC covers, is that so these guys don't get scrutinized for attempting to play any other GN'R classics and possibly failing. Instead, they play covers of other bands, of which there is no comparison to criticize...

LALD and KOHD should never be dropped, the crowds love them for the sing along and casual fan who buys a tickets wants to hear them, despite a few people posting forums finding inconvenient. They are practically Guns N' Roses to anyone who goes to a show.

..but no other covers should be played at the expense of Guns N" Roses songs (more specifically Chinese Democracy tracks the album they should be touring), including SWAY or anything of TSI?!

I wish I could give you karma for this. Absolutely.

And I'd love to hear Axl sing Yesterdays again.

Problem with CD songs, most sound pretty terrible live. the ones they play are the ones they pull off well and Better is always hit or miss.

TWAT,Shacklers,Prostitute are terrible live and IRS is Shogtun Blues level bad so have no interest in hearing it live anyway

Reminds me of Motley Crue's The Dirt book and how they talk about touring after Generation Swine and what a blast it was playing the old songs but felt robotic and empty doing the electronica stuff off Swine or something like that

I agree with you to a point, D.

I don't think they don't play CD songs live because it feels "robotic" or "empty," but for the basic reason that it's very, very difficult for Axl to pull off live. Better is probably one of the hardest songs for him to sing.

I've always liked him on TWAT and ITW live, btw. But he seems to be very conscious of how he comes across singing them live, even tweeting about sucking on TWAT (heheh).
