I hoe Dave is right!  Maybe Frank was a last second thing due to Sorum?

From what I understand, Adler was never a consideration, and neither was Sorum. Slash literally replaced DJ. It all happened very quickly, luckily and serendipitously. It's no bullshit there were plans for a tour and album for 16, DJ and Nikki Sixx fucked it up royally, but created the best possible scenario.

I'm trying to find out the details, but I do know Slash knew DJ was gone before we did.

I'm just hoping it's not a quickie stadium tour. New album would be badass. Interesting that Slash wanted back in even though he has a bunch of stuff lined up with Myles and Conspirators.

IF you were slash and could get like a million per show for yourself or peanuts for being solo what would you take?

As for an album , I think if anyone maybe we could get an EP of a couple songs.  I would take that too

I can see the studio now when Slash asks to record to tape and the band sans Duff is like "what"?!?!  Slash is old school. GNR recorded new school. Shouldn't be an issue, but he can't just be rushed, the tone and all that shit needs to be organic and needs to be recorded his way or he will end up pissed like he was with VR's recordings. I guess he will do protools if he must to be a team player, but that isn't his style. I hope Mike Clink will do the new tracks.

You would just take the vocal tracks of the CD sessions and have slash and duff, write music to them.  so what Axl had before on them wouldn't even matter. They would just need too hear the vocal melody Axl was using.

From what we know Axl has fallen in love with digital editing and what not. Piecing together tracks and parts of tracks. Adding effects etc. That's the way he likes to work and it gives him so many more possibilities than old school recording.

He's not giving that up imo. Not a chance. It's too powerful a tool, like scrapping your car for a horse. If new music is being worked on Slash will just have to accept that way of working.

If Axl wants to do that that is fine, but they should then go into the studio and play what Axl pieced together as a proper track so you don't get that clipping shit you got on CD where you could tell how it was cut and pasted together.

As for the show, the three-guitar version of AFD was considerably more punchy than the original, granted Slash's work wasn't properly rendered by Thal/DJ or even Finck at times (remember the deep, bending notes). I'd love to hear Nightrain and Paradise with that heavy backbone.

I watched the new Slash blu ray last night. If this band can be THAT tight we are in for a treat. That is a great blu Ray if you haven't seen it.

Axl waddles on stage and sounds like a 100 year old Mickey Mouse (but still sounds better on Brownstone than Myles). Zero fucks given. axl

Tex, I am not comparing Axl and Myles, I am talking about the tightness of the band. Slash, Frank, Todd, Brent all on the same page.  If GNR can be that tight it will be musically stellar!

The band will sound great, but Axl will rip your heart out with the most "old man" performance of his life. You will curl up in the fetal position and beg for a DeLorean to send you back to 1988. Zero fucks given. axl

Ive heard that they are also planning a warm up club tour somewhere out West. I was told its not going to be in LA or Vegas.

I am really looking forward to seeing GnR as Dizzy, Mothergoose, Duff, Fortus, Slash and Axl. Only guy I would love to see added in that lineup is Brain. Poor guy got Wally Pipped because of the baby.

Should be a great tour. If they are happy with each other by the end of it, Im confident we would then get some sort of studio album.
