Re: 2016 Summer Stadium 'Not In This Lifetime' Tour

Interesting Facebook post from Scala Guitars, Fortus' axe of choice:
https://www.facebook.com/scalaguitars/

Richard Fortus and his 2016 Guns n Roses tour rig. Four Scalas will be rockin' the upcoming GnR concert events. The new "Old School" T-Rod which was made for this tour, Richard's "Burst" flame top sound-vented Underdog, the "Red" sound-vented Underdog Concert and the sound-vented White Spell Underdog. The White Spell and Red did made a quick pit stop at Scala studio. Both White Spell and Red got retrofitted with a new Scala Stoptail piece featuring brass tongue insert, and the White Spell also got a custom Kill Switch installed. These photos were taken while adjusting the sound curve of the "Old School". The adjustments were made at the spot, at GnR rehearsal studios, and yes, the old box was the most perfect table available at the moment. The first of 6 GnR tour dates is tomorrow in Las Vegas. Time to ride away and check them out!

A new kill-switch on his Les Paul-alike? Interesting. Which of Buckethead's Chinese Democracy solos use a kill switch, again?

Without really knowing what a kill switch does, I've heard this said too.

A killswitch kills the guitar signal when pressed. ..gives it that stuttering or machine gun sound when pressed rapidly ...

3:24ish on Chinese democracy
2:30ish on Better at the start of the bridge/breakdown part
5:17ish of the TWAT solo
3:35ish of IRS at the start of the solo... it also sounds like it might be subtly used thruout the song in the mix

You get the same effect turning one pick up off and toggling between the bridge and neck. Slash has done that before actually but the killswitch makes it much easier. Eddie Van Halen done that too!

It would never happen, but I'd love to hear Slash use a killswitch.

Thanks.

Agree with Bri, can't see Slash ever using that.
