The more I listen to all of these Chinese leftovers that Slash and Duff have worked with, the more it's clear these are bang-average songs that were left off the album for good reason. Perhaps is the cream of the crop by some distance of the 5 we have now heard completed for me.
I'm also increasingly baffled they didn't prioritise Atlas and State of Grace as well - I think they could be quality songs.
What a massive letdown "The General" is.
I think Demos are way way better than Official Releases even though the low quality sound. Those like me who waited for original CD2 as it was planned we'll never have the chance to enjoy it. CD era was conceived for experimental freaking mix of guitars and electronica. As. Much as I love Dlash n Duff, not animals for That cage IMO

So.. this theoretically is a new leak of an old song from an old recording but not that specific old recording that we're familiar of - this specifc one apparently comes from a new sighting of an old CDR.. gotta love the insanity that is GNR.
I know NO backstory on this - it found its way into my lap.. and like I have said 1000 times - if I get my hands on something, you will too - because I'm not a hoarding jackass.

Now is not the time. Once the reunion happened, CD2 was toast. It’s unfortunate because I want the dudes on there who wrote it.
I feel the same way. It’s great we get official reworking, but man the originals are just so much better. Maybe minus absurd, silkworms was better
Yes, that's right. So many years of waiting for CD2 to come. Hopefully someday, the demos are way better than the official releases imo but happily at least 5hings are rolling forward.

I understand the new direction Axl wanted for GNR and Fink, BH etc fit perfectly to that nu-metal, industrial rock, electronic elements... Those songs such as Better, SR, HS, Absurd, OMG... All those songs with this people and a good final mix are great. But if you take them and allow Slash &. Duff change the structure, the solos... They are not great like before.
That's the problem with the leftovers in my opinion.
Yeah, definitely Slash n Duff are not animals for this type of songs, Slash feels lost in them eg Silkworms... Loved the last Bumblefoot version
