Lets go back to fandom...

It took me a long time to get into this song, strange cause its one of the, if not the heaviest GNR song ever... and I like heavy.
Mabye cause its quite gloomy and depressing, it just pounds along for a while and its a million miles away from anything on AFD.

I never really "got it" till I was older, I grew up in a real shithole and watched friends I'd known from childhood flush their lives away on heroin. I pointlessly stood by them for many a year until I had to just severe ties for the sake of my own life and moving forward with it.

To me the song swings from the perspective on someone lost on smack, to the outro and the perspective of a loved one watching them waste away and finally losing patience with them and letting it all pour out.

Its a work of art and to me possibly the best lyrics Axl's ever written.

"Time to turn the page."

I like that, and its long overdue for everyone concerned.

Yeah mines has changed for the worst, I'm just bored of them now and rather busy with other things in life.
I still like CD, and think this line up is a tight band... but if the grand master plan is to continue posing and posturing to past members work rather than get creative and innovative for themselves and take Guns N' Roses forward... then I will get off board and fuck off, as Mr Stinson once so eloquently put it.

Awwww no dirt?

They sold the last Euro tour through Ticketmaster no bother, I'd wager there was no US tour cause Axl didnt want to use Azoff while this was ongoing, rather than Azoff black balling Axl. If there was a couple of bucks in it for him Azoff would sell his granny.
Interesting to see how this pans out for the US fans, cause now there's no excuses not to tour.

Nowadays I'm just curious to see where in the hell this GNR incarnation are headed, the status quo of this new era of Guns N' Roses is boring me shitless. I'm beginning to think its all a charade, I want to see some originality and creativity, its new music or bust for me.

I dont even read comments on those types of pages anymore, youtube is the worst. I can only picture snotty nosed kids typing that kind of nonsense and thinking they are brilliant.

On topic, I never realised Ron was hurt so bad either, his first messages sounded like it was just a bump. My best wishes to him and I hope its a speedy recovery!

I agree completely Apex, I've never bought Matts version of how it went down when he quit/was fired. The language he used in public is completely designed to play with the fans emotions and stay onside and make his departure sound as heroic as possible. The whole "you've just broke up the greatest rock n roll band in the world" speil is completely manufactured in my opinion.
