#1151 Re: Guns N' Roses » Prob no Brain on tour » 868 weeks ago
Why is everyone reading this as "Brain won't be on the next tour" instead of the much more likely "what next tour are you talking about?"
I say this was Brain's way of telling us that there is no tour planned.
In fairness for the moment at least it does seem a tour is in the works. It just appears Brain isn't involved. I'm not massively dissappointed, Frank's proved he can do the job, it's just a shame to see another key player on CD depart. Which I'm assuming is what's happening, as no matter what anyone wants to say about 'being in the GNR family' if you aren't even part of touring when you're the drummer you aren't in the band as far as I'm concerned.

I can see why you'd want CD as the opener and I wouldn't be against it but for me Jungle is just the ultimate setlist opener, it's just killer. Particularly cos the new guys play the hell out of it it's a highlight of the set. Keep CD intro and all for the start of the encore.
Another scenario is if they came out and opened with CD, and then played the whole album start to finish. Then the band went off for a bit and then reopened with Jungle and then played 6-8 classics ending with PC. Now that'd be sweet
#1155 Re: The Garden » Derren Brown Predicting Lottery Numbers Live on TV » 869 weeks ago
I love they had to get a mathmetician to explain the obvious there. Browns explanation on the wisdom of crowds is true, it's a known theory but it can't be applied in this case as the lottery is too much of a random process to make it guessable whether a crowd's involved or not makes no difference.
Derren Brown has said time and time and time again he has no psychic ability (not that that's of any use with an inanimate lottery machine anyway). He is a magician, a hypnotist and an illusionist, and a damn good one. I saw him live earlier this year and he's excellent (watch some of his live shows on the C4 website and you'll see what I mean). Still not sure how he did the lottery thing though probably some camera trick or other but knowing that would ruin it. Just a thought but how extraordinary is it that he just predicted the lottery, when you think about it at least one person does it every week.
#1156 Re: Guns N' Roses » Message to GNR fans asking about tour plans (from Ron): » 869 weeks ago
The stalkers among us should keep an eye out on where other band members are claiming to be on twitter or wherever. If there seems to be a migration towards LA then it would seem rehearsals are on.

I hate to say this, but its becoming more and more likely that the only reason this shit isnt being confirmed is because Axl is acting like a goddamn diva. I can totally picture it. The powers that be are kissing his ass, trying to get him to agree to it. One day he says its on, next day its off. This is why I avoid this part of our forum like the plague.
Maybe, although I think it's more likely they want a whole leg of a tour to announce at once rather than one date at a time as and when they get booked. It's just the promoters and venues jumping the gun with the announcement.... I hope.

Yeah the UK dates were a bit strange because Download were claiming that Download would be the only appearence by GNR in the UK in 06. Obviously that proved to be false. I seem to remember the early Euro dates surfacing first Madrid, Lisbon etc before anything got confirmed then we got the Hammerstein confirmation and things took off from there. So actually this is panning out very similar to 06 in terms of the tour. There were several dates pretty much confirmed by venues before GNR announced anything. You've got to remember at the time GNR didn't have a functioning website either so I can't remember how the 'official' announcement came about, possibly on the newswire?
Good times
Gotta credit Ron again, good of him to acknowledge the emails and also lets be honest he's done nothing to quash tour rumours with this message, quite the opposite. He's said all he could without coming out and officially revealing anything (which is basically yes there's a tour, but hold your horses until all the t's are crossed).

That word paperclip one is the best I think, I spat my drink alll over the keyboard.
Couldn't really give a stuff if it's fake or not, gotta remember Beyonce was a losing nominee in the category Taylor Swift had just won so there'd have been a camera trained on her anyway so getting a shot just after her name was mentioned isn't that implausable.
Well would ya look at that if I've given it that much thought maybe I do care?
