It's definitely a dig at Axl but Reznors been doing it for years and others have said much worse I doubt Axl will be too upset by this one.

Pretty much the only people in the new lineup whose place is secure are Dizzy, Pitman and maybe Fortus (assuming Izzy doesn't want to tour or Axl DEMANDS to have three guitarists). I don't like it - it's a shoddy way to treat the people who've pissed away a decade of their careers on Chinese Democracy - but it looks increasingly like it's happening.

Who knows about a reunion, it's a speculation for now and really nothing much more substantial than that, the strongest reunion indicator is that Azoff's in charge and he's the 'reunion' guy so to speak. As for a reunion lineup it dpeneds on if they want to do new material. If they do, I'd suspect we might see Pitman remaining in some capacity. If it's just a big tour there's no real need for Pitman, they did the old songs fine 20 years ago wihtout him. I see no place for Fortus in any kind of reunion environment, if Izzy won't do it (and I suspect he would) then I'm sure Gilby would.

Yeah just the one, I was on my way to a football game and one flew across the sky. I know people say they're quite common and if you looked out when it's clear for a full night chances are you'll see one, I just never have.

I've been trying to push this point as well. Some of the songs I think are great and amazing but some just aren't as strong.

True. I mean I really like 6 of the songs but as a fan of music I can really like those songs and at the same time know that they won't appeal to a wider audience. I can hear that they don't have that AFD or even Illusion "it" factor in them.  And then the ones I don't like I can't imagine your average Joe liking them at all. I think for alot of us we've grown to like/love these songs cause for so long they were the soundtrack to our lives. A soundtrack that noone else even knew about. The songs love'em or hate'em are special to us. I think that skews alot of people's expectations as to what the public will or should think. The individual songs and album as a whole will never be that way to the average person.

Great point Bono, bang on. These songs mean so much more to us than anyone else. People did literally insane things to get their hands on just 'demos' of these songs. We can't even begin to gauge how good these songs in any fair kind of way. I can accept that and I'm not trying to, I like the album it works for me and that's all I can really say.

Then again I had to like the album didn't I, just like everyone else on these forums had to, for the already mentioned reasons. Crazy, insane, illegal acts to get just rough demos, literally weeks and months, in a few cases years logged in at GNR forums talking about the album. Building the new band and album up to friends. After all that how can you possibly judge it fairly, you can't. It takes an extremely strong willed person to go through all that I've just mentioned for several years and then after all that get the album and think 'fuck', I don't really like it.

I remember Hale Bop, was cool but once you'd seen it for ten minutes....

I saw a shooting star once that was pretty cool.

It'll be interesting to see how does here in the UK, supposedly early reports (Tuesday) showed the Killers were winning the battle for no.1 by about 20,000.

I can't help but think of this when people talk about Edge's guitar playing 16

I love Bill Bailey he's awesome

#1348 Re: The Sunset Strip » Stereophonics » 911 weeks ago

I saw stereophonics live about this time last year. Was a really good show they put on.

They've just released a new GH set here, not sure if it's available where you are metallex but that's a good collection.

Too much Education to Perform is a good album that's also worth a look.

Bartender and the thief is probably my favourite track by them, you should check it out.

Cool find.

The first record, everything was written. I went in and rerecorded parts, but it was all written before I got in.

Take that Fortus nut swingers! lol

Anyone notice he said "the first record"? Could Mr. Fortus have a larger role in future installments? I'm interested in what Fortus is capable of from a writing aspect.

Weird thing is the 'nutswingers' should have known that ages ago, he said it enough times.

Axl said at the show I was at in 06 that Fortus had been writing some songs (admittedly he didn't say GNR songs but that was inference I think). Axl also said back in 02 in an interview that they'd already written some cool songs with Fortus so I guess we'll see what comes of it.

Odd thing is he says all songs were written before his arrival yet Better, Scraped, Sorry, SR were thought to have been written after 02.
