I dont think Axl spent that much on music production, but I have suspected from the start of this tour that he might have funded the live production himself. Judging from Universal and Interscope's handling of the album its obvious they phoned it in with an almost determined lack of interest, the booklet is testament to that. The live production is huge and Axl admitted when they started out they didnt even have a manager, I really wouldnt be suprised if he was one of the main players in putting it all together.
It could also explain all these "private shows" - they are out earning the best wage they can.

IRS is pretty fuckin sweet in my book, as is scraped. OMG is one of the most venomous stompers ever attached to the GNR name, its a great song and a bold move by Axl to release it at that time. It really caught my attention that he was trying something different, but its a shame it was a red herring and would lead nowhere.

I dont like him because he speaks to people like they are shit on his shoe, not because he gets to dangle at the coat tails of the band.

I couldnt care less about getting backstage either, would love to chew the fat with Axl for sure, but couldnt ever bring myself to loiter around the venue in the hope of cosying up to someone who could blag my way back there.
Tommy and Ron are other 2 guys I respect the most and would enjoy getting a chance to hang out with them, but I'm sure all of the band would be good company, they all seem very down to earth and pleasant.
I go to concerts for the music and live theatrics, even if I was on buddy terms with the band I would prefer to be out in the crowd watching the whole spectacle, fuck hanging around the edge of the stage, that view sucks! And pretty much always by the time the show is over I'm drenched in sweat and ready to go home, especially by the time a GNR concert is over.
But the fact they gave my country a wide berth recently and are now waving goodbye to europe means my chances of ever swapping make-up tips with DJ in any kind of setting are pretty remote

Well I'm still using my delusion, all the touring has been part of a grand scheme to fund the creation and launch of new material

But fuck it, I dont give a shit really. All I really want is new music and lots of it, I dont care if it sells 10 copies or 10 billion, just gimmie gimmie gimmie!
