Holy shit.....A4L! One of the OGs from ROV.
Axl appearing at a Slash show? IMO highly unlikely. Both men are well aware of the historical importance of their first performance together and I doubt even Slash would want Axl just appearing at one of his shows. I get your point though and back when that AFD anniversary happened at the Adler's Appetite show I wish Axl had shown up for it but afterwards I understood why he didn't even if he had entertained the thought for a second.
As far as a box set goes....I agree we are getting SOMETHING whether a reunion happens or not. Now that the two are civil it allows the floodgates to open.
We're almost all old ROV lifers aren't we?
I still have the hoodie Double Talkin' Jive sent me from a competition I won back when.
Can someone link me to this infamous carwash post?

Ilicit net was where IRS originally laeked. Used to hang around there waiting for more godly mana to fall out of that douchebag's giant ass.
Wasted. Fucking. Years.
Fun tho.

Tell you what though.
Here's what'll happen. The reunion will fall through because the small print on Slash's contract will read:
* I The oversigned hereby take full responsiibility for the dissolution of the original GNR(TM) line-up and hencewith wholeheartedly agree to honour each of the above-mentioned performancees while wearing a yellow-pink polkadot dress, of one William Axl Rose's choosing, thereupon emblazoned with the term "Axl's Bitch" in a lamb's blood lacquer.
Axl will claim he tried his best but Slash refused to sign over some silly legal clause, the remnants of Nu-GNR will be spread to the 4 winds, 4tus and Frank will do an acoustic EP with Hillary Duff while blabbermouth run 16 articles of Addler bashing Axl for being a dick.
Oh.
And we'll never hear the Vault.
Axl will die having bequeath all his worldly goods, musical recordings not withheld, to Dijon the fucking cat who'll be 10 years dead himself but his momager will have convinced an ailing Axl that yoda incarnated his spirit in the fruit of Fernando Lebeis' loins.
A child who will no doubt be a douche bag, and proceed to play his 'lost gnr albums' at bloated south american house parties for the terminally rich and unbearable.

Weiland is a moron........believe it when I see it.
He's also a prophet.
4 days ago he said Linkin Park Jr was out of STP, 2 days later he was gone.
So by tha measure... in 2 days time.

I 100% believe its happening.
Stay of Execution seems legit as the name of the first reunited GNR album

One question
#157 Re: Guns N' Roses » Matchmaker who finds new members for bands (Has worked for Guns) » 507 weeks ago
Lomax wrote:It's Alanis Morissette surely... He mentions her right in the article.
Well, no. You don't identify someone early on in the article and then use a blind tease item to refer to the same person later on.
Oh look. A wild condescending prick appears.
Firstly. That is entirely subjective.
Secondly. Axl isn't alt rock.

How do I say this.
Slash back would be great but..
I still don't want a full AFD reunion. I think it would be a serious serious let down.
A Disappointment.
AFD era GNR were great in their day. But that day was nearly 30 years ago now.
I'd want to see them do something new and exciting.
I always wanted to see Axl as like an O.G. torch bearer for Rock n' Roll in the same way a guy like Jay-Z is for Hip Hop.
When DJ came on board I was hopeful for that. Taking a younger artist under his wing bringing him around the world training him in and helping to build his career.
Rock n Roll moguls are needed. I'd love to have seen Axl start involved in a rock n roll media empire.
Imagine all the biggest rock n roll brands buy up a couple of blocks of real-estate in Detroit and strike up a deal amongst each other to act as the gatekeepers for rock n roll culture.
The Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, Ac/Dc, Guns N Roses, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Queen, Metallica, The Who, Aerosmith, Sabbath, U2. Imagine those guys all working together to create their own Rock N Roll Record labels and streaming services, ticket sales, publishing, touring agencies.
That is what is needed in a world where the music industry has been monopolized. These are big brands that are dying out. Pink Floyd rolled up last month. That is a huge brand that could have done so much for up and coming musicians that is just being wasted.
That wold be something. The grunge guys did that on a small scale back in the day. Nobody has done it for rock since.
I'd think that would be an idea that Axl would like too..
i should write up this idea as a proper essay and tweet it to the man. ...
Day dream over....
Also.... on a related note.
If slash isn't back. Ricihe Sambora is free and he is a monstrosity of a guitar player.

There are probably a lot of reasons for this, but in my opinion Axl has always been the weak link live. Them getting back together (if it were to happen) wouldn't be any different than what it was in the past.
I agree there. I think some people have this misconception that Axl was always on fire back in the day. The amount of energy he puts into his performance can make you overlook some of his deficiencies live. I'm not saying he wasn't better back in the day, but this perceived notion that he used to always be spot on and now he's always horrible doesn't jive with me.
Not saying he was perfect back in the day, but at least he wasn't Mickey Mouse. His worst days back then were too much rasp. But I would take that over Mickey Mouse any day of the week.
And back then he would at least give you incredible stage performance even if the vocals weren't perfect. Think of Perfect Crime during the Indiana 1991 show. Maybe the best example of cocaine's power. Dude was like a bolt of electricity during that song.
Nah. His worst days were when his voice sounded squeaky like a rubber duck in a blender.
