Yeah, I can see were you're coming from, but it's the fact that he collaborated with Clint Eastwood again that got me excited about  seeing his performance in Changeling. He was fantastic in Eastwood's other movie "In The Line of Fire." They just don't make villians like that any more in movies.

Since you brought this up, I might as well comment.  I love In the Line of Fire, I've seen it around eight times and each time I find something new.  The great part about Malkovich's role is that there is a multilayered complexity to it.  He is sympathetic to Frank (Clint's character) and his past, yet he is still extremely pissed off at the government.  I see his character as Frank's evil double.  I end up rooting for him at the end.  There's also that relationship with Clint and Rene Russo that's great.  One of my favorite scenes is when Clint plays this beautiful short piano piece in the middle of the film.  Good stuff.

I actually paid to watch Waterworld and I didn't think it was that bad, just kind of ridiculous.  The problem with Costner especially during the mid-late 90s is that he went away from his established audience.  He plays better in dramas than action and epic films (Dances with Wolves--exempted).  Look at the bombs in that list--The Postman (Tom Petty was also in it) an epic which ran 3 hours.  3000 miles to Graceland--was an action film.  Wyatt Earp another epic that ran close to or over 3 hours.  He made way too many long epics after Dances with Wolves and I think people just got tired of him in them.  He was at least smart enough to start doing romantic dramas again.  Unfortunately, he also stared in the 2008 bomb "Swing Vote."  To be fair, Eddie Murphy was in "Meet Dave" which only did 11million in the US and cost 60 million to make.

The Spirit--an unwatchable piece of shit and a waste of two hours.  The only part that was moderately interesting was the fact that Samuel L. Jackson started hamming it up.  Now whether he did this intentionally or by function of the script I can't say.

Changeling

Was really good. Pity John Malkovich didn't have more screen time though, the guys one of my favourite actors of all time.

Great!  I'm glad you enjoyed it as I watched this in the theater and thought it was a moving experience.  I loved the gray toned cinematography as well.  Any role which deviates Malkovich from his annoyed, sarcastic characters is good by me.  This is not meant as a criticism but he seems to get an awful lot of roles that have those characteristics.

Definitely Queen as the song is an all time classic.

I had a problem with this episode for various reasons.  First, as previously mentioned, there was no sign at all that Kutner was suicidal.  Yeah, I know in real life most people who commit suicide exhibit no signs either, but this is a tv show and they should have at least given the viewers some clues.

Second, Kutner is the smartest guy on the current team when it comes to diagnosing stuff.  He notices things that the other three doctors miss, in that regard he is like House Jr.  With him gone, I'm not sure who takes that role in the show.  Taub is an OK doctor.  I find Thirteen extremely annoying and somewhat incompetent.  Foreman is probably the biggest disappointment of all since he has been with House the longest, yet during the last year he has  become an extremely incompetent doctor, capped off by this season's "I switched Thirteen's meds during a test trial" that nearly caused her to die.  I guess they can always use Cameron or Chase as House has confided in them during this season.

Third, the writers rarely wrote storylines about Kutner and yet he gets to die in this fashion?  Seriously, if they had written even one decent storyline about him I would be less irked about this episode.  This year a whole bunch of episodes devoted to a mediocre actress (Olivia Wilde) and her struggles with lesbianism, Huntingtons disease and dating a fellow doctor.  What about the other characters?

Fourth, this was just a downer of an episode.  I know the topic was dark and grim.  But they extremely subdued and like they were walking in quicksand or something.   They also wasted a guest star appearance by Meat Loaf as the patient of the week.  Is it just me or does House seem a bit more distant this year?
