That's a production music wing of Universal.
All the music we hear in adverts and TV programs is made by independent composers who publish their music through licensing platforms.
This is Universal's licensing platform.
The piece is definitely not GNR.

I agree that there will be an eventual backlash, especially Facebook(or Twitter). I predicted a few years back that Facebook will suffer the same fate as Myspace. Everyone disagreed and said Facebook is here to stay, everyone uses it, blah blah blah. Those same people said the same thing about myspace in 2006.
I think you're right.
They're bigger companies than myspace ever was so the brand will survie somehow surely, but social networks are attracting a lot of negative press these days.
I don't think they'll last much longer.

What a dumb article!!!
While it was an odd song choice I'll admit, Slash wasn't miming HIS parts, its just the backing that was pre-recorded because the band wasn't there.
Slash played his parts really fucking well if you ask me!
Slash should have turned it down or forced them to pay for the band to come.
You two are just pissed because the article is 100% right and on point.

Yes they can. If the song has been "released" it is totally legal to cover it as long as you pay the PRO fees. A band cannot stop you from covering their music. Axl cannot stop slash and vice versa. BUT everytime Axl plays a song Slash has a writting credit on Slash gets paid and vice versa.
"The question then becomes, why are you allowed to perform songs live without permission? This also makes you money from someone elses material. Yes, they do get paid, but they can't stop it either?"
Performance rights are public and open to all. You don't need permission to play anybody's music.

I cut it together from a public domain 80s cartoon movie called "Space Transformers" beacuse I though it suited the sound.
