I definently believe both have a drive to get one up on the other, how deep rooted that goes, who knows...

Was Slash talking about this solo album before the "Cancer" interview?

That looks so fucking cool, I wonder if they are going to rerelease the single along with a video in Asia to promote the tour.

Japan??? That sounds familar....

Hmmmm 21

I've been wondering for a while if this, Slash and "Freinds" album, is coming out to ride the crest of the Pro Slash wave in the aftermath of Chinese Democracy.
I wonder if having all these friends on it is a way of bolstering the impression that he is a good guy who everybody likes, so he must have been the good guy in the break up of old guns.

Its far fetched, never really thought it credible to be honest, its just a general wondering. But seeing now he has decided to release a couple of singles in Japan, on the eve of a GNR tour makes me wonder even more.

The problem is simply that Axl takes such a long time to do anything, these huge periods of inactivity are why people leave. I figure they just decide to give up and make commitments to other projects, and say "sorry Axl, I cant hang about any longer, I have these offers and I've decided I'm going to take them up."
The way the old band fell apart was uglier and more complicated though.

I do agree that his departure likely threw Axl for a loop(especially with that quick NIN release), but he had almost a year to figure out something in a post Finck era. Even without a replacement, a promo blitz could have still occurred.  While I would have preferred as many members of the 2001 line up as possible be involved post release and 2000-08 departures did create an obstacle of trying to market it as an actual band, Finck wasn't a "deal breaker".

Yeah man, the question shouldnt be "what happened to the Better video", it should be why the hell wasnt there a video ready to go with the Chinese Democracy single, with a video on the sidelines ready for the follow up single. The fact that they were scrambling around at the 11th hour getting people like Lars to sign of legal agreements for a video appearence for a song that by that point was already released as a single is quite baffling.
But this is an album that 15 years in the making and noone proof read the booklet before printing of tens of millions of copies...:/

#2059 Re: Guns N' Roses » Could it be I'm sick and tired of GNR? » 892 weeks ago

I play UYI 1&2 and CD a few times a week when I'm working out or running, I have a compilation of the old songs and old bootlegs I made and play that quite often as well. I havnt had an  urge to play Appetite for quite a while, I listen to Rock Radio most days and they play the hell out of it so thats enough.
I never really get burnt out with it though, I listened to it all religiously for years and I cant see it ever ending now. I'm a creature of habit, I still log in to youtube and GNR is my number 1 search, the first time I ever ventured online on a freinds computer years back, GNR was the first thing I typed in a search engine. "Horticulture Calibre" or something like that was what I ended up reading inside out.

The only thing I'm weary of is the forums, they are a breeding ground for negativity and are quite depressing. I've said it a million times, if they is nothing going on in the world of GNR, find something better to do with your life. I cant understand the people who bang on every other day about the injustice of it all. Most of the people I know are GNR fans and they have no idea about the forums and couldnt care less anyway, its all about the songs, the albums and catching a live show if possible. They listen to lots of music and have the same outlook. Hell, I have that same outlook with most bands I like. Its only GNR I log on to sites everyday to see whats happening, and thats even more fucked up coz I know sweet FA will be happening 14
