yeah but this is gonna just throw new fuel on the reunion fire.
so we don't forget, it wasn't only Slash who filed those lawsuits.
don't get it
Izzy calls him Hitler, Duff files same lawsuits as Slash
Slash is satan everyone else is ok........... don't get it

Don't get me wrong ,I am excited as fuck and think it is amazing!!!!!!!!
For GNR, Nu GNR however, I think it may have been dumb. FINALLY, they are starting to make traction and people are starting to embrace and recognize the new band for their talents. People have kinda accepted that a reunion will never happen and now THIS!
I have always been super pro reunion as everyone knows and Im gonna be honest, Duff joining for one song is the most excited Ive been about this band since CD came out.
So does this now turn the reunion talk back up to 11?
Did Axl just kill all the hard work he put into gaining exposure and acceptance for the new band?
thoughts?

no interest whatsoever in a fake band plagarizing one of the greatest bands/albums of all time

i hate weezer....and all their tunes are basic boring stuff imo
can't stand 'em and never understood the fascination tbh
Agree 100 percent.
Terrible fucking band.

This guy really gonna try to even half way say Great White would have Bon Jovi's success if Jack had Jon's business acumen and face?
GTFO
Great White were a terrible fucking band.. That's why they never caught fire........ oh shit. no pun intended

Still think sometimes DJ tries too hard to be cool. Cool video though

Well Axl did give Richard the job cause remember he saw Richard at the airport or whatever and said he looked just like Izzy....
so......
he has valid points. no videos, band posters etc...... could be a ruse to fool the public.

If I die tomorrow was written by simple plan heres the SOLA credits :
Sixx, Michael, Ashba, Frederiksen.
Hate to have to state the obvious dude, but in a post original GNR world EVERY guitarist is a Slash wannabe he is one of the most influential guitarists of all time.
You'd be hard pressed to get a guy who isn't influenced heavily by slash
my mistake, i got mixed up on songs.
yeah SOLA is an awesome/monster riff/song
I like DJ *cept when he twitters too much* but his playing and skill I am a huge fan of. always have been. I just don't think he is anywhere in Slash's league.
he is the perfect replacement for Slash though cause at least he is a fan and plays the shit correctly.
I guess what turned me off a lot about the new band was how most of them weren't fans of the band.. why would u join something u didn't like? thats why i always thought it was a paycheck for hire deal and maybe not 100 percent genuine. at least we know DJ is a major fan.

-D- wrote:I find any comparison of CD to the old albums to be premature.
For instance 23 years later i still love Appetite, 19 years later i still love UYI's
2 years later , im already sick of most of CD
so its one of those where CD is FRESH so people are going to have a stronger liking to it today cause u haven't wore it out for 2 decades.
Appetite and UYI's still hit me as hard and get my adrenaline pumping same as when i first heard it.
With CD.. i have to be in very special moods and i skip most of it after only 2 years.
so wait ten years, then compare. thats really the only fair way to do it.
Agreed 100% For me some of the comments in this thread are down right absurd. To each their own and yeah everyone is entitled to their own opinion but some of those are opinions are absolutely fucked.
ok so I'm not gonna be the politically correct, diplomatic one. The comparisons of CD to the old albums are ridiculous. Talk to me 10 years from now. No way in hell CD holds up the way the old material does. Like you -D- I'm pretty much sick of 95% of the CD album.
Its not just GNR but any band. The newer stuff is gonna be fresh. When Prince's Lotus Flower came out, first 2 weeks i was championing how the second disc was on par with Sign o The Times. I have said many ridiculous things in my life on the net, but that may have been the most absurd. a year later and u couldn't pay me to listen to that album.
in ten years, i can see listening to the 3 or 4 favorites.. but for me, most of it is pretty disposable.
