I'm hip to that set list.

I don't see myself ever paying to see Aerosmith again (I've seen them a ton already) but if I went to a show for free or something, I'd be happy with that set. Especially opening with Draw The Line.

This is my favorite version of Draw The Line ever:

They go into F.I.N.E. from Pump in the middle of it. So cool.

Love it... Pump was their last GREAT record... that was fucking awesome.

who cares if a female vocalists range is as imprssive as a male vocalist's or not. Does it sound good? Yes. That's all that matters. She'd set VR apart give them a distinct, Cory Taylor would make them sound like  all the other modern rock acts out there.  No idea what the appeal is about that guy. I think he'd suck with VR

Look, bro... 5

No disrespect intended, but I am as infatuated with Lzzy Hale as anyone right now.. and I truly think she is amazing.

I could totally see her with VR, if I honestly thought VR would ever reallyi function as a band again... Which I do not.  It's just been too long. Everyone seems to have moved on to their own shit... And they all seem perfectly happy on their own. To start that band again, it would almost HAVE to include Scott, or be called something else entirely.

The Corey Taylor thing was the last hope. The last gasp of potential excitement surrounding that band. The ball was dropped. Game over.

Say what you will about Mr. Taylor... He's a bit more than your run of the mill modern rock douche. He has a vocal range that isn't often utilized in either of his current bands... It's easy to lump him in with the meatheads, but he shifts effortlessly between a soulful, haunting croon to a murderous scream and back again frequently... Not to mention, his lyrics... A few aberrations aside, he is a brilliant lyricist, with a profound vocabulary.

I always liked Scott... But he is, and always has been a lucky second rate fucking poser.  He always seems to be trying a little too hard to be "alternative"... I mean just look... The fucking guy STARTED in a second gen grunge band. He has way more in common with those second rate cunts on modern rock radio than Corey.

If you don't believe my post, or if your opinion of the guy is based on your lack of respect for Slipknot and Stone Sour, I beg you to check out the guy doing some covers on YouTube and reconsider....

I think not hiring him was, indirectly, the death of VR... They just haven't scheduled a funeral yet....

Fuck all that shit about Fergie. How is it that this girl(Lizzy Hale) has never been mentioned in the discussion of a new VR singer at all and how is it possible I only heard of her and her band last night. Check this shit out. She starts singing at 1:45. Her range is nuts! This is LIVE. Unreal.

There's a cat named Doug Church that does a lot of "what if Elvis were alive" covers. Dude sounds EXACTLY like Elvis in the late 70s in my opinion. Here's his take on Tears In Heaven:

He's got 3 albums out and I have all 3. I wish he'd do another one soon and yes, dear God yes, In Color, One and No Excuses would be awesome choices for it.

Let me know what you think of the cover above.

That guy is fucking incredible.... big_smile

Jesus... Bob Welch, Montrose. These legends committing suicide is becoming an epidemic. R. I. P.

I voted yes. They can do whatever they want.... However:

Seriously?

It's clearly a cash grab gimmick. Is the state of the Music Industry that bad?
Instead of championing new good music, we resort to this shit?

It's a super expensive fucking Chuck E Cheese light show... and now you're gonna involve the KING?

It's a sad world we live in these days...

On the subject of how well we all know each other, I've found that over the years whenever I mention something I read on here I've evolved from going through the "...it was said on an internet forum" to just saying "this dude I know said..."

I'm talking about when I'm discussing a movie or whatever. For example I was talking to my room mate yesterday about trying to go see Prometheus at some point this weekend. At one point I said "I'm on the fence because I've heard from a couple people who's opinion I trust on movies, one hated it, the other loved it". I was referring to our "Most Recent Movies" thread here.

Same thing happened after Somebody That I Used To Know blew up. When it just got huge on US radio, a friend of mine texted me and said "hey, am I crazy or did you play that Gotye song for me like 2 months ago??" to which I replied "Yeah, but I can't take credit. A buddy of mine from Canada put me up on it way back then". I was talking about the thread Bono created about the song way before it blew up here, but I said it that way because that's how I think of it: A buddy told me about it, not that some stranger on a forum started a thread.

That doesn't happen and has never happened with anywhere else I've ever posted on the internet.

I do the same thing...

Funny you mention the Gotye thing. I listened to that shit as a result of that thread... Then did a blog post along the same lines, and a week later, my friend was like... "Hey, you gotta hear this shit on my iPhone!" sure enough, I mentioned that "some friends" had turned me onto the dude a couple of weeks prior... I consider you all friends... And like Russ said, ANYWHERE else, it would be "shit I was discussing on the internet"
