And then it says here in some court papers from this year...…

https://regmedia.co.uk/2019/05/10/compl … winery.pdf

…"GNR is a musical group and partnership organized and existing under the laws of the state of California with their principle place of business in Los Angeles, California.  GNR’s general partners are W. Axl Rose (“Axl Rose”), Saul Hudson, pka Slash, and Michael McKagan."

That’s interesting. Was this common knowledge? So the rights to the GNR name are now co-owned by Axl, Slash and Duff?

I thought this was always the case since the 90s?

I thought that as well, if you look at any legal things like trademarks, GN'R related things are registered to Axl, Slash and Duff. Like this one

http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield … utem4.2.12

And this is a live trademark, renewed in 2017.

It would make sense to do a live DVD from the NITL tour, but the record company have been pushing for an album for years with Duff and Slash back, so I cannot see the new album being a live album.

Hard School was on the alt setlist and Slash has said he will be recording with GN'R for the next few months, so there has to be a new album planned.

who cares what slash says he has as much power as pitman does none and that's why i don't believe a single word that comes out of his mouth

Going Down would add some variety into some of these other tracks. I guess because Tommy left he won’t get it on the album unless Duff steps in.

Or Izzy as a guest spot. That'd be weird, but his voice would fit.

going down is a tommy song not a gnr song and yes axl sang guest vocals but does that make the songs on Sebastian bachs album that axl sang on gnr songs?

GN'R songs can start with, or involve, other members of the band. At the same time, Axl can guest vocal or do other projects.

Your opinion is that you think Going Down would be better as a Tommy Stinson song, rather than a Guns N' Roses song, which is a fair and valid point. Avoid the childish digs at the band though, it's not cool here.

I voted for IRS, I think it is just about familiarity. I don't mind the song, but the other three are better.

I think State of Grace sounds dated, but I really like it for some odd reason. Hardschool, I think, sounds more simple and because of that, it can be a relevant song now. Oklahoma sounds really good, but I worry about how it has evolved

A new Slash podcast with Marshall Amps. Slash says after these tour dates have finished (which they have now) he'll have a few days break, then work will begin on the next album which will take a few months, so more info that fits in with the timeframe

So for now, all we'll find are probably some engineer, or equip related blog entries or tweets.

Mixing is an unknown, mastering will probably be Ted Jensen at Stirling, the new tracks will be registered with ASCAP or SESAC at some point. All this might be early next year

It'll be interesting to see what the tour cycle is, there's quite alot of competition and bands touring next year

Why are you so certain it's Sterling as Axl is said to have loved Bob Ludwig's work?

Based on the record company's expectation. Ludwig was a one off, apparently.

Aren't Smashing Pumpkins gearing up for a big tour?

I'm not sure. There was talk of an anniversary tour, then talk of having a break next year. Plus Billy has just released a new solo album, so I'd guess he would want to tour that for a while
