Add me to the camp that wants CD songs in the setlist, as they are still part of GnR's catalogue and it will be interesting to see Slash's take on those songs, just as it was cool to see Robin's take on Slash's stuff.
Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Slash had already put down a solo for This I Love, considering that song was supposedly around during the Illusions.

Agree that Robin and Bucket playing the old songs was 1000 times more interesting than DJ and Ron.
Robin put such a unique spin on the songs and I really enjoyed his time in the band.
On the Slash 2010 album, I enjoy a few of the songs. Didn't care for the Fergie shit, but Ghost, By The Sword, and a few others would have done well as GnR songs.

Yea the rumor is a 25 date US tour and there are rumblings of summer festivals in Europe.

Anyone who was disappointed with Izzy for appearing with the band in 2006 and forward were not going to care about what was going on with that incarnation of GnR anyway.

When I saw Izzy in 2006 come out with the band for the first time in New York, there were a lot of happy people. No one looked disappointed to me.

I thought the United Abonimations album was actually a decent offering for thrash metal in the 21st century. I enjoyed it at the time. It's not Rust in Peace or Countdown, but you can't repeat that.

oh wow.
sure, all the guys have written good songs, without Izzy.
But the best songs in GnR, have Izzy's involvement. And it took them 16 years to put out an album without him, pretty much with an entirely new cast of bandmates.
If Izzy is involved in the songwriting, the result will likely yield better songs. If he's not, that's not to say that some good stuff can't come out.
The good thing is, they probably don't need to write any new songs between what is in the vaults and CDII.
