#2921 Re: Guns N' Roses » Brain in Modern Drummer (May 2009) » 917 weeks ago

My eyes hurt after trying to read that. The interview looks awesome though! Brain doesnt ever pussy foot around and he just opens up, he is always good value.
I hope you can buy this in the uk, this is the best "making of" interview yet.

Mabye the remixes will just be part of a double album to rerelease CD, with a disc of b-sides and remixes. Wouldnt be suprised to find Sailing and a couple of other cover versions on it as well.

I cant remember reading any review calling it weak, it was more like they wished there was more songs on the album that were as straight up rocking as IRS.

But its probably had its day as well, its another song that was big on US radio in 2006.

I like the album version of IRS the best, but the original "metal" sounding leak was awesome as well. Listening to that on headphones whilst mega stoned was really great, there was some cool guitar effects that were not as apparant when straight up sober. The leaks in between the first leak and the album version all sounded half finished to me and were not as enjoyable.

I wish that song got some more love, I hope Axl releases it as the next single just to piss the forums dwellers off big_smile

#2924 Re: The Garden » Depression... » 917 weeks ago

I have had depression for the last 2 years. At first I was diagnosed with work related stress, but now I think it was depression back then too. I tried to ignore it for ages but it affects you in different ways that you dont expect.
I went from having an encyclopedic knowledge of horticulture, to staring at plants in my mums garden and not even being able to remember the names of them. Being self employed as a landscaper/organic gardener this started causing a lot of problems and embarrassment.
Falling asleep at say midnight, then waking at 2am and lying wide awake until 5am was another weird symptom.
The constant fatigue was a nightmare, totally ruined my excercise routine - which was great for lightening my moods.

The doc prescribed me antidepressants, but I never took them. I read a lot about them online and decided against it. I have casually thought about suicide since I was a child and never had any major inclinations to carry it out, apart from one drug induced occassion.
From what I read antidepressants change the way your brain works, and I was afraid that if I took them I would no longer be able to control suicidal  thoughts.

Exercise was always key to maintaining a healthy mind and I'm trying to start little by little getting back into a routine. Its frustrating since I used to be very fit and strong, but after many false starts I'm determined to build up slowly this time around.
I already feel a lot better, but still nowhere near over it.

I've been taking st johns wort for a while as well, I cant say for sure if they work, but they havnt done me any harm.

On topic, I'm a member of a dj forum called SkratchLounge and I got a pm today from "mignulikz", the admin said this:

"I manually approve all registrations in the lounge so that bots and other potentially hooky posters shouldn't make it through to the lounge. One did and you all got a mass PM from this idiot. The bot is now dead.

What is has highlighted is that 400 registered users have dead emails, and that people who have stayed away for literally years are back this morning to pick up their PM. Perhaps a few of them might stay around and contribute as well.

Again, apologies. "

That is so cool. I love astronomy. Wanted to go into it in college, but what would I do with a degree? Rocket scientist? Probably should have done it.

I'm the same, I love learning about the solar system and the universe and wanted to study it, but I'm hardly going to get a job with NASA 14

I'm pretty interested in geology and how the planets work, I then realised that I live on a planet and its all relevant. I'm have applied to go to university this year and study earth science, plus I will get the chance to study the other planets as well!
Job prospects are a bit more realistic as well, but I'm not that fussed, I'm doing it to bring some stimulation to my life.

Your here to give me an english lesson?? I know what the word means and I stand by my original usage of it. You actually think I used the word incorrectly or by random chance?
Did you look up "fannybaws"? Thats another appropriate usage of language befitting the situation.

Hey fannybaws, I've never been banned, cautioned or warned from any site.

Are you jarmo in disguise? Then put the fucking dictionary away, googling the definition of a word doesnt add one god damn thing to the discussion, or score you any fucking points.
