Yeah, didn't like it right off, but has REALLY grown on me.
Another bit of trivia, Axl didn't want to release it, but Finck loved it and got Caram and Tommy to talk Axl into it.
I heard that as well. Very interesting.

Axl Rose has the sole song writing credit on This I Love. It is the oldest known song from the Chinese Democracy era. Rumored to be in its infant stages while the original band was still intact and is most likely to be about his tumultuous breakup with super model Stephanie Seymour. In ‘93, Axl told Hit Parader “I wrote and recorded a new love song that I want on the next record called 'This I Love’, that’s the heaviest thing that I’ve ever done. This I Love was rumored to be set to appear in a Robin Williams film entitled "What Dreams May Come". The song first played live on Dec 11, 2009 in Taipei, Taiwan (also DJ Ashba's First show with Guns N Roses)
Personal notes/opinions on the song:
- Even though the lyrics are a bit cheesy, the vocal performance itself is a great showcase of Axl's ability to carry a song by himself
- The guitar solo, imo, is Robin Finck's highlight on the albumI'm shocked it has been voted off so early in the elimination
Same here. I agree with your points. It's probably the most stripped down song on the album too.

Another thing with OMG is the lyrics. Axl hasn't missed a step in that department, but he has mellowed. With OMG however it's pure venomous, old school Mr. Rose.
What can I do when there's so many liars
That crawl through your veins
Like millions of spidersGreat lines delivered with such punch. Only thing missing to make this a great song is the weakish chorus. It sort of brings you back down instead of further up.
I definitely agree with the lyrics. Plus the song itself is pretty fast.

This I Love has one of my favorite lines on CD "I've searched the universe And found myself Within' her eyes". I sing that to wifey sometimes when I want me some.
Also, I love the bridge on Shackler's. It's a bridge to nowhere, I know, but I absolutely love it.
I love Shackler's because it keeps the industrial sound that Axl was shooting for from the album's inception. It's insane with the guitar work, piercing drums, layered vocals, and keyboard arrangements. It's probably highlight on CD.
and
do some pretty sweet riffs and rhythm guitar parts on it too. Going back to your earlier comment, RaZor. It took me awhile to grow and love OMG as well and now it's one of my favorite cuts. It's fast and pissed with the right sound. I don't considerate it a demo at all. Wish it got more love and glad this forum appreciates it.

Fantastic 4 (2015): Me and my friends couldn't get passed the 30 minute mark. Nothing interesting was happening. It's just exposition, no action, not a whole lot of character development, and scenes feel like they were cut, and trimmed in certain shots. It's very poorly executed. The rumors were true on this one. When I get a better quality version when it's released on TV, I'll watch it. Wouldn't recommend it right now.

If The World is such a jam. Bucket's acoustic playing on it is beautiful. Mother Goose gets the Bond vibe spot on production wise. Seems like a song everyone had fun in being a part of.
I'm not saying it's a bad song. It certainly has its moments, but overall I don't like Axl's vocal melody too much on that one.
I can understand that. The lyrics aren't very good on the track; but I do think Axl's vocal performance with the music's production makes up for it.

@apex - hell yes it would.
I still think Axl has that in him though. There were a couple of shows in Vegas last year where he was on fire, and he very well may be getting into fighting shape as we speak preparing for next year.
Reunion or not, I'm excited for what's to come next year. Well, hopefully next year. Lol
He needs to hook up with whoever is helping out Bruce Dickenson or Chris Cornell.

I wouldn't say he has a point. If he had said Axl isn't in as good oh shape as he was 5 or 10 years ago, that would have been a point. Calling someone a fat bastard is an insult.
A dick move no matter the circumstance.

Obviously a new trick to keep re-unionists of his lawn
.
Pitman posted a picture from it too, so presumably he was there hanging with Axl.
Pretty sick video he caught himself there.
That vid was pretty sweet. Glad to see the two of them are palling around. Maybe they were getting together to talk about future plans as well.
