UYI box set
New music
Axl Biography

Even the prospect of new music is somewhat underwhelming compared to the wait for UYI or the mystery of the Chinese democracy early years. I’d be more excited if Axl/Slash or Duff were more passionate and enthusiastic about it.

Somebody who’s not a big fan of ‘Team Brazil’ ?

Here’s an idea - Bring back Adler and Izzy - for even just a single song...split the royalties if necessary to make them excited. I bet that would that would create some excitement!

I’d have a lot more respect for them if they  were more transparent. I don’t think the media gives enough of a shit about them to discredit, print mistruths or build unrealistic expectations. If they were honest enough to say ‘we tried writing, it’s not working’ but we want to be able to play live I’d be cool with that. Too old to care now.

A track I have really enjoyed recently is Greta Van Fleet’s ‘Age of Machine’. I enjoyed their first EP, not so much the album, but this track really worked for me - the band sounds incredibly tight and clearly have invested a lot of time in both song writing and playing together (they are all brothers except the drummer mind). This and seeing some of the covers musicians from DIFFERENT bands have done online recently has really changed my view of GNR.

we’ll get nothing and like it. If they haven’t done anything already during this pandemic, it’s over.

Every band/artist that is serious about music has done something during this lockdown. Hell, Steve Perry is more reclusive than Axl and he released new stuff his month.

It’s over.

I think you’re right. What I’m interested to know is how hard they’ve tried.

I didn’t buy tickets for this round of touring and won’t until I see a resurgence in creative energy from this band. Particularly at the ticket prices they are asking for.

If they hold back an album because they think they can get away with a ‘reset’ then one might assume

1. The album is mediocre and they feel it might damage tour sales / reputation if they release it now

2. There is no new album or they are struggling to complete it

3. They aren’t confident that they can write another album and thus are desperately holding on to the one they have for when tour sales drop

When I see other rock bands creating and releasing despite of lockdown it makes me wander what they have been up to. At the end of the day I just don’t think they’re tight enough to make the music they made in their heyday. I think that any music might reflect that.

As for Slash’s comments....he hardly sounds excited!!!

What’s the big red light on Slash’s desk?

#348 Re: Guns N' Roses » New leak » 288 weeks ago

Gotta admit seeing ‘leak’ got me excited. So bored or waiting for something new from GNR....

#349 Re: Guns N' Roses » New leak » 288 weeks ago

For the first two seconds I thought - oh cool they’ve gone all raw and back to basics again ?

Struggled to get to the end of each track. Couldn’t even tell which version of gnr this is
