James is right about McCain being a coward. I just saw a replay of the part where Obama was DIRECTLY talking to McCain ("you were wrong when you said we'd be greeted as liberators, that the war would be an 'easy' victory," etc.) and McCain wouldn't even look at him while he was speaking directly to him. It comes across really pathetic.

Obama won the debate. We'll see how the upcoming ones go, but I have no doubt Obama will get another boost after tonight.
McCain made some good points, and even caught Obama on some facts, but came off as rough and unprepared. His biggest issue was the entire debate he came across as agitated. Seriously. It was like he was pissed about something, I don't know if it's because he didn't want to be there or what.
Obama came across as relaxed, prepared, poised and classy. The man also made some very good arguments and poignant statements, and just all around came off on the screen - better.
The problem for McCain is this is HIS ARENA. He didn't want to do the convention. He wanted this. And ironically... his convention was better.
We'll see how future debates go, because i've seen others come back. I know in 2004 Bush came off awful in the first debate, and then majorly kicked ass in the 2nd & 3rd. So who knows.
But right now, Obama won game one of the division playoffs.
And as for Palin/Biden next week... ugh... *cough*... after that Katie Couric interview, Biden's gonna break Palin's back across his knee. This is gonna be like watching an elephant crush a mouse.
If Palin comes across completely clueless like she did in that interview, it could become a major problem for his campaign. But I suppose the people who were so happy he picked her probably already made up their minds and won't be scared off when she freezes up on basic, important questions that a VP should be able to discuss.

I didn't really notice him not looking at Obama, but I've heard it said on the post show. I think that's McCains personality (which I don;'t like), but just he's a little bit of a jerk, and won't look opponents in the eye. Things he's always right all the time, I'm right you're wrong. Also, he tried to belittle him a few times by saying "What Obama doesn't understand is...". I'm sure that was just a stunt, but the first time he said that I knew he'd use it all night. Sure enough he did.
I noticed it right away. Both of them "greeting" each other at center stage, Obama says "Hi, John, how are you doing?" with a smile on his face in a cordial fashion. McCain didn't even make eye contact with him. He was too busy looking at the crowd and moderator as if Obama wasn't even there. Very odd coming from a guy who claims to have such a "bi-partisan" record.

I thought McCain's body language was not Presidential. Didn't even look Obama in the eye the entire night, including during the handshake. The actual debate itself was pretty even.

Assuming Palin is going to do poorly is a mistake. Assuming Biden is going to be well received is also a mistake. This is warning number 2 against over-confidence.
Have you seen Palin's interviews with the media? Good God, she is terrible. Can't even put a coherent sentence together (words are not in the correct order, etc.) and her answers are just dumbfounding. She basically makes some of GWB's gibberish sound incredibly "on the ball" compared to what's coming out of her mouth. The Couric interview was embarrassing. She even had note cards during that interview yet she constantly screwed up. "The bailout is about health care...[looks down at index card]...oh...it's about not wasting taxpayer dollars on corporate welfare." Utter catastrophe.

One of these debates will have a huge effect. Candidacies have been destroyed during debates. Go have a chat with Carter, Mondale, and Dukakis and tell them debates mean nothing.
And Nixon. JFK decides to wear makeup, Nixon refuses. Everyone listening on the radio thinks Nixon won the debate, but everyone watching on TV thinks Nixon looks like a nervous wreck because there's no makeup to hide his sweat...therefore they think JFK wins the debate.

I think "If The World" is awesome and has a timeless classic Pink Floydish feel to it.
I don't think u can go wrong with it.
whats going to be weird is what we've heard so far is a melting pot of styles and Im not sure how they are going to fit together and flow on the album.
There's two songs that I am positive about their positions on the album. The first song is CD. The final song is TWAT. The way CD starts with the extended slow build-up and then the kickass guitar lick is an obvious album-opener. And the way TWAT finishes just feels like an album-ender to me, kind of like how Rocket Queen ends.

I've been whispered to that Best Buy "won" the bidding war with a little help from Wal Mart's censorship policy, something Azoff was unwilling to bend on with the retail giant. Apparently CD will be a stickered album.
Well that is great fucking news. That was my big concern with Wal-Mart. The biggest upside with Wal-Mart, of course, is that the price probably would have been lower for us and it would have reached a far larger group of shoppers, given the fact that Wal-Mart is everywhere and Best Buy isn't as widespread. Either way though, if this sucker is released around Black Friday, I am hoping we get a good price from Best Buy regardless.
