The music is on the fence of being bad ass. I think they just lack and identity and chemistry. They don't know what they are or what they should sound like. Its a shame. Is Better the New GNR's banner song? Like Paradise City is the Classic Lineup's theme song? What is this band about? I don't get it. They don't know either. The magic that came from 5 friends is gone. There is not magic. There is nobody rising to Axl's vocals. NOBODY. Like some said, great solos by the guitar players, but they are solos, not for the song. Just solos to solo and sound like they were punched in. It sounds to sterile and contrived to me. All these dramatic synthisizer intros are too much. Not bare bones enough. Does Chinese Democracy need a one minute intro? perhaps, but 5 other songs don't. Its not Dio "Holy Diver" for heaven's sake. And Holy Diver is a classic song. They are right on the cusp of being there. BRI, I do "enjoy" the songs, don't get me wrong. But like Bono says, 11 years for this? Are you serious. Fuck the final mix, it won't save these songs. They need new songs to save this. Is this the worst album ever? Fuck no. Is this the worst GNR album ever? Damn right.
No, the worst GN'R album ever is Spaghetti Incident. And actually, I think CD will be more consistent than the Illusions, but definitely not worth the wait. Not even close to worth it.

Peter Travers from Rolling Stone gave it 3.5 stars out of 4. Said he has nothing but superlatives for Ledger and to sign him up on the list of people that believe Ledger deserves an Oscar for it. Called Bale's performance amazing as well, comparing it to Pacino in Godfather II. This movie is going to be fucking epic. He gave Batman Begins 3/4 and has called TDK a "stunner." This movie is just gonna kick all kinds of ass. Cannot wait.

I saw one tonight on "regular" TV. This portrayal of the Joker is going to steal the show, nothing short of brilliant based on everything I've seen thus far.
Definitely. Which one did you see? They are laying it on heavy. There's been 9 TV spots already, and 4 of them were released last night! Good Gawd.

Apparently there was a screening tonight for big wigs in Burbank, California. One of the WB's head honchos arranged it. One insider called it a masterpiece and said that it floored everyone in the theater. Said that Hulk, Iron Man, and Spider-Man movies combined are around ankle height compared to how tall TDK stands in the genre. If Clint loved it, then I am sure we all will.

Clint motherfucking Eastwood has agreed to play a villain in TDK's sequel. He has seen TDK and loves it. He also loves Batman Begins. Nolan offered for him to play the mayor in BB but he was not available due to Mystic River and Million Dollar Baby scheduling conflicts. He is a huge fan of Nolan's work and has been wanting to work with him for a long time. Clint's seal of approval for TDK means that the movie kicks ass. It's comforting to hear that another big BB fan was not disappointed in the new movie.

Shit, apparently there were 2 other TV spots released tonight with more incredible Joker lines. They haven't made it onto YouTube yet, but it's pretty amazing that there's already 8 TV spots released for this movie when it's still 3.5 weeks away.

New TV spot. Couple of new lines from the Joker that are just GREAT. Plus there's a big ass collision between the Joker in an 18 wheeler and Batman in the Tumbler. Looks badass.

I'm devastated. I've been dreading this day, he was my favorite comedian. I used to IM James all the time and we'd talk about him. He was just the absolute best ever, and there will never, ever be another like him. He took what Lenny Bruce started and did it better with genuine honesty and originality.
I'm just sad and stunned. In tears.
RIP George, I'll miss you, thanks for the education and the laughs.
I feel the same way. I always thought he would live to 100 and keep on kickin' ass up until that day. His 2008 HBO show was yet another classic in his long, incredible career. As James said, there will never be another like him. This sucks. RIP, George.

Tracking 4 weeks out shows 94% awareness across all demographics with some demographics at 98%. The number that the tracking company gave was "low 100's" for the 3-day weekend but the guy who posted it says he thinks they are lowballing it. They have Hancock at $120 million for its 5-day opening and he says Hancock has much lower awareness and interest across all demographics. This same tracking company hit the nail on the head with Iron Man, which they said was tracking in the triple digits 2 weeks before its release. TDK is still 4 weeks out and the marketing blitz will be starting sometime in the next week or so. Indiana Jones did not have this high of awareness until 2 weeks before its release and it made $150 million for its 5-day weekend. I think TDK has a great shot at $110-120 million for the 3-day weekend if WB unleashes a good TV ad blitz in the next 4 weeks.
