Keeping Frank and bringing on Melissa when Zig Zag, Sorum, Adler are all willing and able is also embarrassing. The shows were fun but this could have been so much more epic. Glad they all made a lot of money and the tour was a success but Axl was pretty damn lazy and stubborn in many ways.
I'm not sure this is a reunion. Whatever this could be really depends on why the 2 guitarists, DJ and Ron, left at the end of the Vegas shows. If they left for the reasons they said they left for, essentially wanting to write their own music/parts, Axl who stated how he liked what the previous lineup was doing and "has stuff together", and he has played the stuff for Duff and Slash and they "like it and they may be on it". All signs in my opinion point toward Axl possibly being surprised by his two guitarists leaving, realizing that there just was no point in trying to get the public to try and accept some other guitarist who also isn't Slash. Plus the negative feelings they had had mostly dissipated. So no need to have Zig Zag, Sorum, Adler, whoever come back. Because it wasn't meant to be a reunion and why would you want to kick out players that have already laid down all their tracks for CD2?
On the other hand it could also depend on when Paul Tollett started talking to Axl about Coachella....

I think the band has way more songwriting potential then many people would think. They were on a list to release something, be it an album, live cd, who knows. So that happened. This band named its tour "Not in This Lifetime", came back out of nowhere on APRIL FOOLS day. Most of there promotion has been fucking with the fans, and its my opinion that's why an album will come out. Because no one expects it and have written them off again...that means no media trying to tear it down before it comes out. If and when Slash just goes back to conspirators after the tour ends, and Axl does nothing, and Duff does what Duff does, then okay. Which so far they haven't, i will accept that i am wrong. But i think they know this is there chance. None of there solo adventures would ever be able to top what a new GNR album could do. Either they put something out soon or i would have to think they are done. Why the fuck would you wait a couple more years to do something, it would make no sense. Axl said two things at the China Exchange 1: He didn't want the old lineup to end, he basically said he favors it. CD2 was heavily rumored to be near a release before the reunion. So the lineup implodes for whatever reason, Slash and Duff come back. 2: He said "i've got a lot of stuff together, i've played it for Slash and Duff and they might be on it, idk if soon is the word" To me that implies his focus is on finishing CD2 regardless of whats happening. And i think soon now is the word (that was in 2016). I know before he took forever to record and that's what a lot of people are saying, but if you put Slash and Duff in there it's not going to matter. Its Slash and Duff and it's Guns N' Roses. They just record parts that follow the same song structure as whats already there and improvise where they will and done. For CD2 its not like there are vocals and synth and keys etc, i'm sure that's done already. Probably has been for awhile. They know they have a rabid fan base online, they know there are sites that will pick up on little discreet comments, like when DJ Ashba's FB comment or whatever basically acknowledging he left for Slash to come back. Duffs wife friend going "Guns n Roses are back motherfuckers" or something like that. And everything now. It's all planned. I wouldn't be surprised if we got an album completely unannounced at this point. My prediction: Chinese Democracy 2 with some retrospective title that's some kind of exclusive product, produced by Caram/Axl, this year.

I don't think its him not caring but him using a different style because: He is 55 and got his signature voice by using a damaging technique combined with the drugs, what is left is pretty tired. Point is to get that powerful rasp it takes a lot of breath and compression. Its basically a controlled scream. Maybe hes at risk for an aneurysm, so screaming for 3 hours might be risky? The soundboard from the L.A. show you can hear how he still has rasp but uses a safer and easier technique, which kinda gets buried in the mix. As far as vocal surgeries, i'd bet hes had plenty done.
With AC/DC its mostly all mid range stuff that doesn't require the same effort or range, and he probably does care more about his performance with AC/DC then with Guns. This is all speculation obviously but I don't think its to far out there to believe. And either way I seen them a month ago and still thought it was a helluva show. In a studio setting he could definitely still do some amazing stuff, no doubt about that.

I believe the Prostitute ones did, not sure on the Shacklers Revenge. There are a couple Youtube channels out there with them, the best is Jon Ph. His channel is all isolated tracks.
Edit: Shacklers isolated guitar

The solo is actually from a isolated Buckethead guitar track from Jordan that i took 3 parts of and kinda pieced in there. I like it better than the cut and paste solo from Bumble. And ya nothing done to the vocal track but i noticed that it has a lot of reverb or something on his voice.
Thanks for the listen, i'm working on Prostitute now

Nice version of the song. I did another Riad mix and couldn't get it on soundcloud for more than a few minutes.

Maybe Angus has gotten in Axl's ear and will do promotion more in line with how AC/DC does it.

Seeing how a lot of Axls work is inspired by world events, example; Civil War, I think the events of the last couple years, and 2016 especially are filled with fuel for lyrics. Axl, Duff and Fortus, as well as crew like Del James, have a strong anti Trump stance and that right there can inspire a song. I think the band has way more songwriting potential then many people would think. They reunited after so many years, that could inspire songs like 14 years. World events, which they all share similar opinions, making the writing easier (based of twitter posts). Mick Wall says NEW material coming, take it as what you will. They were on a list to release something, be it an album, live cd, who knows. But that happened. I said it before and say it again, this band named its tour "Not in This Lifetime", came back out of nowhere on APRIL FOOLS day. I will accept that i am a big dummy. But i think they know this is there last chance. None of there solo adventures would ever be able to top what a new GNR album could do. Either they put something out before the end of 2017 or they are done. Going back to the Mick Wall comment and how the whole promotion has been fucking with fans, maybe its the start of that promotion. I'd really like to know how close Mick is to the camp these days, i know he's publicly retracted the whole book he wrote on Axl. They know they have a rabid fan base online, they know there are sites that will pick up on little discreet comments, like DJ Ashba's FB comment or whatever basically acknowledging he left for Slash to come back. Duffs wife friend going "Guns n Roses are back motherfuckers" or something like that. I think that was planned. Again, Rabid fan base picks up on things, sites like Alternative Nation write an article on it. Promotion. I wouldn't be surprised if we got an album completely unannounced at this point. Long post i know, but am i just rabid, or right?
