I see Axl applying for and losing out the lead singer position in Velvet Revolver to Sebastion Bach...which in turn starts a whole series of drama laced incidents in which Axl shows up on stage uninvited to sing "18 and a life to go."
When this doesn't work, Axl will gather up all former scattered members of GN'R including 'Popcorn, Gilby Clarke, Traci Gunns, and Richard Fortus (of course!).
This encarnation of Guns N' Roses will create, dissolve, and and recreate more times than there are months in the year.
Yep...that's what's going to happen...

elmir wrote:Intercourse wrote:Why would there be that long of a delay when he will be done recording by June/July?
because his wife is managing him, and she clearly wasn't too impressed with the deal he got whilst with VR....so my guess is that he will finish it in its entirety, choose a single or five and then he and Perla will shop it around town to the highest bidder...
could also explain why he recorded it so quickly....because he was footing the bill for the studio(s), and not the record company...
Exactly.
Back on topic: is anyone who is still interested in the Axl Rose/GN'R saga? It's so boring that doesn't even worth speculation.
Yes...I agree completely. I know Axl, I know...you don't work for me...blah blah blah...
I also understand how you feel like you're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't...but christ...we've been hearing the same tune from 'gnr' for over a decade.
Chinese Democracy was released, and a lot of people, including me, felt like it was going to mark the beginning of a more normal era, one with tours and shows, updates and daily news...lots to talk about.
What did we get? The album release...and then dead silence. I love the album for the most part, but the joy and rapture I had planned on experiencing was sullied by a complete mishandling of the entire situation.
How can it be this hard, guy?

What's just as interesting to me are the topics discussed ten years ago...GN'R LIVE ERA, OH MY GOD...holy shit...has it been 10 years? I was a sophmore in high school....
where did it all go?

Yeah you'll keep signing up, but you'll just kept getting thrown in to our troll category where your membership is thrown into "read only" mode, meaning you are basically just able to lurk.
So have fun wasting your time creating multiple new email accounts for the sole purpose of logging in here to wind up having to do it again immediately.
mitchejw wonders if he too belongs in this category thanks to all of the political commentary he made before the election last November...:nervous:
mitchejw knows he can be abrasive...lol

I think even from the beginning this was the most likliest of scenarios...a short run on the charts with no promo or touring...
#5016 Re: Guns N' Roses » GN'R showing signs of being labeled an "epic fail". » 861 weeks ago
There's no way this album has a chance at an AFD style response. No way. AFD was culturally significant. It was very much of it's time. Chinese Democracy is about Axl. It won't be culturally significant the way AFD was, even if they promote the hell out of it.
Like James said, if GNR had done this right (like U2), there would have been a significant increase in sales.
With all due respect Saiken, you have the benefit of hindsight perspective. It's very hard to predict these things...one things for sure...it does take someone doing something way out of the ordinary for his/her time. although some say the sound is 'dated,' I think we all can agree that it is different.
I do very much enjoy the album and still listen to it. I have my favs (Prostitute, TWAT, This I Love, Sorry). I think if you expected 10 million copies sold in the first 3 months, you were only fooling yourself.
There is something to be said for this way of conducting business...he's letting the music speak for itself. I highly doubt that many albums sell the way that the used to anyway. The days of 15 million albums sold is probably over, anyway.

No one ever told me when I was alone, they just thought I'd know better...better...than to fall for this all over again?!??!?!
