I think it's more sentiment with Adler than anything. It would be nice for the fans and for him to see him up there. In reality though as you say it makes no real difference to ticket sales or 99% of fans who's behind the drum kit.

Izzy for me is the big one, it does matter if he's up there. Even none die hards are saying Izzy should be there to call it GNR. For me it's more about moving forward, if there's a hope of ongoing new material I think Izzy needs to be in the fold.

I think AC/DC are playing stand alone shows at the Etihad and Olympic stadiums next year. Could they be possible UK venues?

There could be a Kimmel performance next week. Again, big time rumor and it could involve Steven... Maybe.

This?

Do you Know Where You Are @jimmykimmel ? Next week, right

For those of you that missed 1986 the first time around - have no fear it'll be back in 2016 on so many fronts.

You're Crazy if you don't circle this day in your calendar

Wow. This is getting crazy. Sounds like they are going all out with this. 2016 is going to wind up being the biggest GNR year since 1991.

This line....

Makes me think it might be AFD.

Axl Rose to talk Guns N' Roses on Jimmy Kimmel live.

Sounds like more of an interview than a performance.

This is already more promo than we saw in 15 years of the CD era. TB may be officially management but there's definitely someone else involved here pulling the strings. So far, whoever it is, they're doing an awesome job!

The guys in his mid 50's to be fair, Slash don't look so cool without the tophat these days either.

I think he actually looks healthier than he did a few years ago.

I'm wondering if they are recording brand new songs  hmm

Welcome to the forum!

Hopefully, although I think that's best case scenario. Knowing Axls leisurely working pace it may be easier/quicker at this time for Slash/Duff to work on something he already has fleshed out lyrically.

Yeah. I'm still on the fence about Steven's participation. The people who know have been adamant Steven is not going to be involved outside something small. So, this makes sense for a little publicity/not causing him to OD thing, but Mitch's trying to insinuate a long term gig, and that goes against everything I've heard.

Things can clearly change quickly. 'The people who know' were saying 10 weeks ago that CD II and a new guitarist was still priority and a hybrid reunion was a possibility for 2017.

Regarding Adler, SG's carwash source obviously came via Steven, suggesting he's been involved in some capacity. Remember Trunk saying they'd clammed up and wouldn't respond to any texts, even Adler. However I've also just seen an article saying Sorum is the front runner but not sure where that info is from.

I think at this stage everyone is guessing a bit even the insiders and as Steven and Izzy are the two flakiest members historically in terms of band status those are the two spots generating the most speculation. Chances are that it'll be one of Steven, Matt or Frank for the drumming slot and Izzy, Gilby(long shot) or Richard on rhythm.

I can only presume if Izzy isn't involved it's because he doesn't want to be, rather than with Steven where it's more the other way round due his past record.

Bet Alter Bridge get a slot somewhere.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!

After so many fucking years of silence and darkness and whatever...
We have extraordinary and real things to look forward to!
No more 'Axl dreams' forum topics.
Real fucking' news!
We've waited so long and had so much patience but it's HERE!
Tour, Interviews, New music!? Bring it!

To all fellow gunners who've been through all this for so many years, it's been great to share this story with you 5
I don't know how many of you have big gnr fans as friends in real life to share this with but i don't and you guys are the only ones who will understand the real level of excitement that i feel right now.

Cheers! 3

It is surreal but I'm excited to see how the next few months pans out.

I have no friends who give a shit about GNR really so it's good I can come here and share it with you guys.

I first saw the billboard story yesterday on facebook and read some of the 7k comments. About 90% were 'Axls fat and can't sing', 'Axl was a whole hour late when I saw him in 06, fuck that!', 'I'm disappointed in Slash, what a sell out!'.

Not that that's going to ruin my excitement but they've got a lot of fans to win round out in the real world. This is probably the best time to be a GNR fan in 20 years, it's great to have somewhere to come and people are as stoked as I am.

But... I think the album is still his priority, 2016 plans were made with DJ who suddenly bailed on them leaving them in the lurch but ended up being the perfect timing. I actually believe Ash that Axl has been training and getting in shape, and I think this was always a scenario for Axl if DJ didn't work out. I firmly believe MSL when he said Slash and Duff have wanted back in since 2008.

Didn't DJ officially leave at the end of July? Not saying he left to help make a reunion happen but I'm sure reunion wheels were in motion by that stage. Maybe he saw the writing on the wall?

If there's a hybrid band, which is what I believe, it's clear they're rejoining more than a reunion, no matter how it's promoted.

Sorry but isn't that just semantics? I fail to see the difference at this stage or the relevance.

Axl owns the name and has for 20 years, that's never going to change. Slash, Duff et al recording/touring with Axl as GNR is a reunion.
