fucking horseshit....I hate the categorization of rock and roll.
#6114 Re: Guns N' Roses » When will it leak? *It Leaked* » 915 weeks ago
when it leaks i'm having it like a shot.
but when i buy the original, that's when i sit in the conservatory, shut off from the wife & kids, open a vintage bottle of red wine & smoke my big fat cuban siglo iv, i'll pop the cd in, read the cd booklet & just enjoy the 'proper' moment.
I like that idea!

axlgod wrote:do i need my eyes testing or did msl say he was getting his copy of cd tomorrow?
It'll leak soon whether he leaks it or not. There's more people than MSL on the verge of sitting on a pot of gold.
An imminent leak doesn't bother me. Most forum fans(including myself) will be buying the album and there's nothing wrong with taking a test drive before purchase.
MIA's Kala leaked around a month or so before release, and I bought it on CD and Vinyl on release day.
I predict it leaks on the torrents before one of the 'legends' leaks it.
Good to see you again MSL.
For those of you not interested in hearing it before release day, we will probably do a pre-emptive measure and have a specific section here where the album will be discussed pre-release. That way for those not listening, they will still be able to come here and not have anything spoiled.
I must admit that I welcome a leak. The sooner the better. I will be buying the disc anyway so it doesn't matter. You never know when your time is going to come. I may not live until Nov 23......:nervous:

madagas wrote:as for radio play, who gives a fuck? How many times did you hear the Eagles single before their record came out? Gnr is getting decent airtime. Over at the Velvet Rope, someone was saying that big releases like this generally don't play their best single first. They know they are going to get big sales the first week so you hold what you consider to be your best single until sales begin to dip. Sounds like a good plan to me. In the end, this record isn't going to live and die with radio play. Considering the cost to record it, it will be purely judged by sales.
i agree madagas...to an extent...they definately need a good gameplan to sustain the album's longevity on the charts and on radio so they can generate interest for the average person...once they instill that interest then it may pan out into a sale
so in my mind radio play does matter, if people dont hear it they wont have the inclination to buy it, but the theory that they are holding bach their big single makes sense to do a big push later on
I guess you're right. The difference between the Eagles and Gnr or AC/DC is that the Eagles clearly are and were not after the young crowd/modern rock radio. Gnr clearly is so to get those younger fans, they will need a decent amount of airplay. I still think they should have reintroduced the band with Better, but I'll leave the marketing to Azoff.

No, I'm sorry you were lied to.
My friends, family and co-workers don't lie to me.
of course they do, Buzz knows all-remember, the guy with the biggest ax to grind who pretty much hates all the new songs is a "realist". PUUUUHHHLLLEEAASSEE.....as for radio play, who gives a fuck? it is only going to be a portion of a week.....so the ratings will be lower. Next week will be the tell tale sign...not this one.
#6119 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR Myspace Updates » 915 weeks ago
Also in their top freinds they have Bumble, Dizzy, Frank, Pitman, Del, Baz and Jarmo
but no Stinson, Finck or Fortus
Tommy left for that lucrative Replacements reunion....you know the one where he gets paid $2.5 million to sit on his ass for 7 years.
I think Jarmo is the new bass player.
