great, they have a good manager. No manager yet has reined Axl in and as of today, Azoff is no different than Goldstein or Merck....a song in a shitty video game and one movie song does not count...still no album in sight. He may have a lot of power in the future, but what is the future for Gnr? A real live reunion tour where they play AFD and UYI? Great, people will care for about a year or a year and a half. After that, nobody will care because whatever they write and record in regards to a new album will be a cheap retread from 87-91. Irving can only come out of the situation a genius if he can somehow combine both a reunion tour and a succesful album launch in Chinese. He has to be able to do both.

Bright Eyes 2005 wrote:Part of being a great entertainer, is entertaining. It's ok to be the butt of a joke--"It's only Rock and Roll" and I like it. Think of Jagger and Richards, they are running jokes, and use it to their benefit. When you are as big as GNR, jokes go with the territory. It's a backhanded compliment in a sense.
I'm sorry but not in this case. Again you can hide your head in the sand and pretend all is fine in GNR but it's not. The last tour was not a huge success. At least not in North America. At the show I was at, when they played the new songs the crowd went silent. That's not a good sign for an album that has supposedly received heavy promo for the last 5 years.
you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground...just sayin.:peace:

these topics are just brutal...how bout shipping this off to the Bumble section so we don't have to read about how the new band is just a cover/tribute band and these guys aren't even members and they are just exploiting the Gnr name and yada yada yada....
#6286 Re: Guns N' Roses » Rankings/comments on all the new songs » 919 weeks ago
my problem with ranking them is that I like bits and pieces of all of them so I don't find alot of them much better than the others. There isn't one song I have heard so far that is "perfect" to me like Estranged or Civil War or SCOM. I thought those tunes were perfect the first time I heard them.

And Ezra Pound and T. S. Eliot
Fighting in the captain's tower
While calypso singers laugh at them
And fishermen hold flowers
Between the windows of the sea
Where lovely mermaids flow
And nobody has to think too much
About Desolation Row
