I think if it is a hybrid lineup.. we will see Izzy on at least a few dates. No way he played with the new lineup and not join Duff, Slash, and Axl for at least a few shows. That's my hope at least. I had a feeling Matt and Steven wouldn't be in on.
No reason Matt couldn't do it music wise, unless the others don't want him there. Not sure how he gets on with Slash and Duff these days. I seem to remember he and Axl made up a few years ago?
All in all the drummer's not crucial to this. Nobody is or isn't going to a reunion show cos Frank's on drums instead of Adler.

Agree on that front. No way we get CD II to support a reunion tour without some serious Slash contributions (meaning basically a rewrite of the material). They're best off either dropping it now before the reunion stuff snowballs any further or it gets packed away completely and the old guys work on brand new stuff.
I don't see a scenario where Slash is happy to play over the top of Ashbas rerecordings of Finck and put that out as a new GNR record. I don't think that would work for any sector of the fanbase either.

Still not sure I buy the assumption Izzy won't be a part of it. I can't see Axl or Slash stopping him being part of it if he wants to be. The only guy who stops him is Izzy himself imo and he's seemed very willing to show up for Axl or Slash shows in the recent past.

Maybe there's a genuine intent to get back in the studio before they head out on tour?
Slash's creative juices obviously are still flowing. Signing off on a reunion tour commits him to at least a couple of years playing 30 year old songs and nothing much else. Maybe new misic is part of the deal?

He may be, but he's also likely to speak with or know people who would 100% definitely know if it was happening.

Momentum certainly seems to be building. I don't want to get too carried away, we all know how fluid 'plans' are with GNR. Either way there's something going down, I notice Weiland has piped up and said he's heard it's happening too.
I am cautiously optimistic 2016 might just be a good year for us.

They're still young enough. New music from a reunited lineup is entirely possible in theory. There's several massive if's and maybe's and we all know what they are but if the chemistry's still there who knows?

I just think in general people discounting Izzy at this stage is crazy. I've seen no evidence the guy wouldn't want to be involved and from recent years it looks like Axl and Slash are happy to share a stage with him. All this talk of Fortus with Izzy occasionally guesting is crazy. It's not a proper reunion without him anyway and I think he'd be there with bells on.
