#642 Re: Guns N' Roses » Slash and Axl friends again? » 557 weeks ago

It's an insincere apology, the Axl diet thing I took as a joke.

It does sound like it's touched a nerve with Slash though, which is interesting.

We are assuming as he's Slash's brother he'd be in the know, of course he might not be. On the evidence available I wouldn't tell this clown jackshit either.

According to Alternative Nation, Slash is pissed about this and his people are trying to pass it off as a hack job, but Slash is trying to get ahold of him to squash this.

Who would want to hack Slashs brother though? Doubt anyone with the skills would even care about hacking Slash 16

Probably the same person who hacked Axl's twitter a few years ago and cancelled a tour.

My money's on Merck, he's still bitter.

Oh My God - Never done anything for me, don't think it ever will.

I think much like CD itself Prostitute suffered from the previous hype and build up it received over the years. A lot of people had it built up as the best song the universe had ever heard, it was the definitive 'big gun' on album that was going to blow minds and change music. When it first leaked people were refusing to believe the song was Prostitute such was the dissappointment. I think without the way over inflated pre-conceptions this song would been received very differently.

That said I still can't help feeling it sounds a bit like Robbie Williams in places 16

Izzy may have been right when he said a reunion only happens if Axl is broke. Being friendly with Slash is all well and good, but does he want to exchange his freedom for a bigger payday? Does he desire to make more music?

That sorta makes me hope it won't happen, since it could mean that Axl is giving up creatively.

Again I think it depends on the terms of the reconciliation (one of the reasons I'm so interested to hear how it came about).
The reunion has always been the trump card for Axl should he need it financially but would always be the definition of a kicking and screaming cashgrab tour. However if they've made peace on their own terms, and the fact they've tried to keep it hush indicates this imo, then I think that raises the chances of them venturing in to the studio together again.

If they're talking again I think a reunion is inevitable. If there is some sort of mutual understanding or respect or dare I even say friendship again there's no way they don't want to get on stage together just for old times sake. Not to mention the $$$ they'd make.

It may be next year, it may be 2020 (hopefully sooner rather than later as nobodies getting younger) however in the short term I'm really interested to know the ins and outs of how they made up. Who, what, where, how? We may never find out unless one of them speaks about it but I'd be fascinated to hear how it came about and what was said.

It's pretty evident the band as we knew it unofficially dissolved after Vegas. I said when Ron left it was a matter of perception, if GNR aren't touring there was nothing to be part of anyway so his vague in/out comments didn't mean much. Clearly it's all a bit less abstract than that and there is no band left to leave.

Axl has essentially been GNR for 20+ years now however this is the only time he seemingly has no band mates. Slash, Duff etc all left one at a time and were replaced as they left. It would appear now that GNR is literally just Axl. The anti reunion brigade always said a reunion couldn't happen because Axl wouldn't just drop the new guys, it would be disrespectful etc etc. It seems to me in one fell swoop he's managed to cull the entire herd. Not saying it's for a reunion but it's certainly one less obstacle.

I think hack is a bit sensational. I'm guessing he picked up their phones and just went on their auto correct settings and changed them. Not exactly the enigma code.

You're right about tv's though. I bought a Samaung Smart tv a few months back (not on purpose it was just the best deal) and then read in the small print the tv can actually listen & log what you're saying in your own living room when in 'Smart' mode. I've never turned on the Smart function since I bought it.
