He's a glorified Stripper.

What's the difference between this:

and this:

"Look at me I'm a fan therefore I'm entitled to have my bullshit opinion respected" blah blah blah.

I think the label is capitalizing on this. There are GNR tours booked worldwide for absolutely no other reason than to cash in on this.

I don't think it's either one of them, I think it's just stalemate.

Slash hasn't called Axl, and Axl hasn't called Slash, and neither of them is going to make the first move.

Traditionally I'd guess at this point Izzy would wrangle Axl, while Steve would be all in Slash's ear, then Duff would phone them all out of neutral ground and shit would get rolling.

But these days Izzy is deep in the Incan forest learning how to knit, while tomorrow he's sky diving on mars or whatever he does in his free time, and Duff, well, he just said he's no longer in the business of brokering deals between bandmates and if they don't want to do it on their own he's sure not going to be the dude who applies the pressure.

Thus nothing happens and nothing will happen for the show.

Then one of two things will happen. Either they'll be kept away from each other and not interact much in which case after the RRHOF speaches Slash will go on tour with myles and Axl with DJ. OR maybe they'll talk and make peace..in which case perhaps there's a chance of a reunion or something one day in the future...

But I don't think so.

Remember Slash tried to go back before in 97 or whenever it was...didn't work out...Axl's not changed...can't see the issues that prevent a reunion ever resolving.

I wouldn't rule out a brawl.

P.S. I don't know anything about Kimbra beyond STIUTK, but her voice and appearance in the video and smoking hot. Her vocals and attitude are completely enchanting.  Has anyone given her a listen yet?

Yeah I youtubed some stuff experimental enough very nice though

I think she really defined the sound of STIUTK

Yeah nice to see that in a famous musician for a change.

I've been meaning to listen to this, and the other day I heard Somebody again, and just REALLY listened to it, and it almost felt like a time trip again to So-era Peter Gabriel.

A nice experience. I imagine hearing it and being on a speed boat in Florida during sunset.

I heard it described as sounding like a duet between Sting and Katy Perry. Accurate.

Yeah i'd be one of them.

I find the way robin plays those classic solos differently to be outright offensive.

It'd be like repainting the mona lisa and deciding to give her a big open mouthed gap tooth grin.

Or just like if myles got up there and sang a completely new verse to civil war.

It's like fuck...the melodies are sacred...maybe a flourish here or there is one thing...but wholesale style change was not cool.

yeah. I'd be just as disgusted on one level but just for the sheer monstrosity of it and absolute desecration of what is left of Axl's good will with the public it would be entertaining to watch, like a car wreck that you can't look away from.

Hmm...that interview furthers my "Slash isn't getting on with Duff and Matt and that's why VR is in limbo" theory...maybe I'm reading too much into it...but just the way he talked about how this band doesn't compare to GNR or VR because it's all so democratic and everyone has input...

Probably just a Scott thing man. But in the interest of idle shopping que gossip, Slash hasn't been seen with Duff since Duff opened for GNR

On repeated listening it's actually pretty alright. Tighter than anything off Bach's last record
