Anyone see this 2014 article by Alan Niven? He claims Izzy set up a meeting with Axl to discuss playing the Hall of Fame gig. Izzy waited for him 2 hours and he didn't show up. I wouldn't blame Izzy if he just said "fuck all of it" after that.

& it's an interesting figure too, that that was apparently the price it took to get Axl to share a platform with Slash again.. Everyone has a price I guess..They are not especially for something like coachelle where it would sell out regardless of GNR playing or not.
yea i don't get it myself. i don't think it's value for money. i love them but even if i had the money i wouldn't spend 8mil just to see Axl n Slash share a stage for 2 and a half hours.
maybe i'm underestimating the business. i think i must be.on julita's point - that's what i mean about the size of the business. sports stars are on a different level - or at least i would've thought. i'm perfectly happy to admit i might be underestimating the significance of this thing.
& anyway, Guns are more Maradona making a comeback at the '94 world cup than they are Cristiano..
To be fair it's $8m for two shows, so $4m per gig. But yeah it's overpriced regardless. Coachella doesn't need them at all. Maybe the Coachella people just want to brag that they were the group to reunite Axl and Slash after 23 years, kinda like they reunited Rage against the Machine.

I'll consider it, but I doubt it. Does Coachella typically sellout? Not sure I wanna log in right away & try my hardest, but I might give it a few days & buy tix at a later point. I'm on the East Coast so yeah travel fees would add up, also kinda awkward doing it alone.
Supposedly it already sold out yesterday.

Watch me claim Coachella is Axl's greatest vocal ever and the people watching the stream will say it is his worst ever.
If Adler and Izzy are there, I bet this is exactly what happens. You will be in the AFD Reality Distortion Field.

It won't be there is that rumor of a 25 date stadium tour in the US plus some Euro dates.
The band is reportedly getting $3-5 million per show, that is for the big 3 Axl Slash and Duff. you really think any of them would turn down at least $1m each per show to just do a one off gig?
If they do the whole US tour that is at least $25m for each of them. Axis slash-less version of GNR won't get close to that and Slash solo won't even get close to Axls non slash GNR.
Why wouldn't they do it?
The real question is will Axl make it through the whole tour without imploding.
I am aware of the tour speculation. I think a lot depends on Axl at Coachella. If he embarrasses himself like MTV 2002 or Rio 2011, the tour plans could easily fall apart. Slash and Duff will play great and that could just make Axl look even worse.

I think it's safe to say it won't be, but if it implodes, reckon Axl will be on that banner alone.
Never underestimate Axl's ability to implode a tour.
