#61 Re: Guns N' Roses » Any Rumors on Opening Acts? » 490 weeks ago

Alice in Chains were a fantastic opener.   I know some can't get past that its a different singer, but he really sounds a lot like Layne on some of the old stuff.. and their new stuff holds up well against the old stuff.   Get them again if possible.

Soundgarden would be an equally awesome choice.   i saw them when they opened for NIN a few years back, although they had a guest drummer.

The Skid Row thing is interesting.   They play small ass casinos here in Vegas every now and then.  Never saw them.   The first 2 albums have some great rock songs.    Its better than a lot of the stuff out today, anyway.     But doesn't seem like they are willing to bring back Sebastian.

Their place on these charts is what seals the deal. When casual fans are pushing KOHD and LALD that tells the band what people are paying to hear.

They're locks.

Right.   They are arguably better known as GnR songs than Dylan or McCartney songs.

I think LALD has an amazing energy live.    KOHD not so much, but I understand why its still there.

No clue why they can't make time for both Don't Cry and Patience, but perhaps its because they are both softer songs/ballads.

I don't get the hype about this cover. It's just fucking corny and awful.

Overrated perhaps.

I enjoy it.. but its getting overplayed and its been posted all over social media.

Not really a fan, but obviously the man was very talented and reached icon status.

If Slash will take The Blues back to its 2002 version I will stand on the top of a mountain holding a sign and screaming for it.

If its gonns be the 2006/album version, let it stay where it is.

I do agree 2002 version is much stronger.   Better guitars.

I have a feeling it would different from both.. but definitely more stripped down and suited for Slash's playing.

I still can't bring myself to call that song Street of Dreams.

thanks for posting TWAT.

Amazing!   Really curious how Slash stayed pretty true to that solo but completely redid other CD song parts.      His playing really fits that song well.

Axl sounds great.    Gotta get tickets for another show this summer.

I think Guns should pay tribute to Lemmy before Prince.

#68 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl/DC - Soon is the word. » 490 weeks ago

I'm fucking pumped.

It's getting a bunch of new songs with Axl.     AC/DC is a legendary rock band with some great tunes.

Aside from a few deep UYI cuts, I am really anxious for more CD material.

Slash on IRS and Shacklers?

The Blues used to be a show staple.    Bring it back.

Honorable mentions for Madagascar and Catcher.
