Tickets are $25 for Pittsburgh this Friday, the alleged release date of Perhaps. I think their touring days are done without an actual album.

Edit: Thanks!

We have to get over the voice thing…..don’t go to the show. Bono sounds like shit now too. They are old! I read an interview with Maynard from Tool. He said he just can’t do some of their older material because it is too physical.
There is nothing wrong with being a nostalgia act when you are 60 years old.
I disagree with this. Axl doesn't sound like shit, he just sounds like shit when he attempts to sing at a higher register. Slither and YCMB being the best examples of this. This is going to be my 10th or 11th show, so I'm certainly not going to these shows to nitpick and not have a good time. That doesn't mean there's not an expectation to put their best foot forward. If Slash couldn't play the guitar anymore, no one would be saying "Slash in his 60s, of course he's not going to be able to play the solo in SCOM like he was 25. Arthritis is real and the calcium deposits on his joints make it harder to move his fingers as fast."
Yes, Axl is in his 60s and he's not going to sound like he did in his 20s. That doesn't mean that as a professional performers they are deaf to the reality Axl sounds comical when he does that mickey mouse voice. I'm not a fan of Tool, but if Maynard is saying he can't perform certain songs because it's out of his abilities, why is it wrong to pose on a message board why Axl can't do the same?
These are professional musicians. They can play in a lower key and slow the tempo to accommodate their singer.

GUNS N' ROSES: 'Worst Glastonbury Headline Set Of All Time'?
U.K.'s Independent calls GUNS N' ROSES' performance at Glastonbury "the worst Glastonbury headline set of all time" and refers to singer Axl Rose as the band's "fatal flaw." The reviewer, Mark Beaumont, writes: "Rose makes the whole thing sound like a Muppet Show pastiche of hard rock. It's his voice: a creature that, were you to take it to a vet, would come home in a cardboard box."

I'm still gonna see them on August 18th, but the author isn't wrong and anyone who's watched the band since 2016 knows this to be true. Slither beyond every other song needs to be dropped. He can't sing it. It sounds bad, and there are other songs he can do.

I love that one twitter post can generate more activity in 2 hours than the previous month

Yea man, married just shy of two years now. Best decision I ever made and happiest day of my life.
I'm 40, so not exactly easy but I still have my GI Bill and PA has a great program to get vets their teaching certification and placed, so things are looking good. Lightbulb moment for me was when I spent 2.5 hours throwing some control framework together for this investment firm and saw my company billed them 10k for it. That combined with a miscarriage really put shit in a new perspective for me. Being compensated well was nice, but none of that work has any meaning or fulfillment for me.
Teaching will allow me to give back while leveraging my 20 years in the Army and corporate America to help kids get attention and mentorship they might not get from an educator who has never left the classroom. If in your down time you ever find yourself in the burgh, shoot me a message and we can grab a beer.

Good to see your posts again PA. I made a similar decision last month. Tired of the corporate office culture, so I gave up my IT gig and am changing industries after 20 years.
I enrolled in a masters in education program and am going to become a teacher.
I hope you’re able to find something fulfilling and rewarding soon.

Sky Dog wrote:Can somebody explain to me why people think TWAT is so hard to sing? It certainly isn’t as hard as Locomotive or Coma.
The verses all the way through to the chorus, the way the vocals are sung, there isn’t a break for you to catch your breath.
I imagine he didn’t sing it in the studio all in one take.
That’s why it would be hard to pull off live.
100%. The range and octave Axl sings the studio version of locomotive is significantly lower than the range in TWAT, specifically the chorus as you mentioned. It’s not even a comparison.

Kid should serve the same time as Manning. He’s not a hero. Just a dipshit trying to get cred on a fucking forum.
But that doesn’t mean we should ignore what was shown. If verified, and it appears to be legitimate, some serious accountability is necessary. If people ignore the information and fall for the Biden and media’s narrative focused on the 21 year old instead of the fact Biden and his Defense Secretary lied to Congress and the American people and have put boots on the ground in Ukraine.
No, it’s not a division. It’s a dozen Special Forces, more than likely in an advisory role. Doesn’t change the fact this serves as evidence and propaganda for Russia. I don’t want WW3, but I don’t want a Vietnam either.
I think DeSantis just ended his presidential ambition by signing this 6 week abortion bill. He certainly lost my vote.
I’m certainly worried about the looming recession, Ukraine, and the aftermath of 2024 regardless if Biden or Trump win.
