I still think the leaks came because someone got a hold of a cd that was used for the rehearsals of the 2006 tour. It doesn't matter anyway.....it is VERY safe to assume that the final recordings won't sound exactly like the leaks. The leaks were VERY rough mixes. That 2001-2002 record must have been great. Oh well, I am sure those tapes still exist.

James must be at happy hour because there is alot of stuff he could sink his teeth in to in that article. Tom is basically talking about the 2002 version of the record. What is slightly disturbing is the fact that Tom said there was only 11-12 songs very close to being finished and ready for release. Atlas Shrugged is definitely a completed track that someone has. On the other hand, Zoot says that there were 4-5 cd's of 10-15 songs from which Axl could choose to work with. In the end, I get the impression that Axl had a hard time finding stuff he really liked....or had a hard time dealing with all the material.....:ummm:

yep....what Neemo and Russ said. Technically, Gnr is still with Geffen as the last official release-Greatest Hits-was released by Geffen. If Axl is looking for a new deal, he is probably trying to get with Interscope as it is a bigger label with more promotional muscle and Jimmy Iovine behind it. However, Geffen and Interscope are both owned by Universal. My guess goes with Russ that the album will eventually come out on Interscope.:cool:
