Easy with them handbags, y'all. It's just a msg board and we're names on the screen, eh? smile

I personally feel the past actions and character of MSL contributes a lot to the perception many people have on his forum, and the scoops delivered therein. I've been there every now and then, my problem is that while some people may have intel (what do I know), there's also this pompous attitude therein that seeps into everything - We know, you don't, sit down.

The lads may just be a bit wary in drawing the discussion into Mr Wrestler and his cohorts. Those people surely know how to promote themselves, for that matter.

Trump is a bit of a jerk as he discriminates people based on their ethnicity, but at the same time, he raises valid points, such as this:

I wish good luck to all of the Republican candidates that traveled to California to beg for money etc. from the Koch Brothers. Puppets?

All those unaware of who the Koch Bros. are, should read this in-depth Rolling Stone coverage.

Trump calls it out as it is - US elections are an elaborate game of money and every representative has gotten there with endorsements. They get sponsored for a reason, too. Obviously, Trump is prone to be as much a scoundrel and self-serving racketeer as the lot of them, but it's fun to watch the other GOP nominees squirm as he trolls on.

In other news, two men past 50 are talking again. Cheers. smile

The Air is certainly a good track. Dizwald's a surprisingly solid songwriter by his own right.

True story: I once dreamt of visiting a place in the wilderness, where there was this little girl who I knew to be the Messiah / God / what-have-you. She presented before me a vision of the apocalypse in the form of a flesh-eating virus, which would soon eradicate humanity.

You can imagine I was a bit stonked to read VALIS and witness Horselover Fat and his homies have a quite similar encounter smile

Duff on rhythm full-time and the touring band is suddenly functional again, with added credibility.

You know you'd go to see them on a venue near(ish) you, particularly if Izzy would start doing guest spots.

CD2 will come out eventually, methinks. There's revenue to be had there. A digital release with a limited edition vinyl might be the way to capitalize in this day and age. Plus, Axl's too headstrong to let it go - I think many are mistaking his internal clock with admitting defeat.

If Bucket returns, i'd hope GN'R got a visual makeover. Not 2001-02, but maybe GN'R as a 2015-version of Sisters of Mercy would be cool.

You mean Axl shaving his head and touring with Bucket and Fortus, with the rest of the band (bass, synth & drums) replaced by a drum machine?

Don't get me wrong, I dig the Sisters 9

Why would he? Brain talked about the verbal abuse Bucket got from Guns lawyers.

Brain wrote:

Aw man, the letters he would get from the [GNR] lawyers, because he would just wear them out so much. 'You'll never work again, you'll work in a gas station before you'll pick up a guitar again!' Because, they'd try to call him and Looney Tunes would come on the answering machine. And there's a huge tour coming on...

That, the endless re-recording, Axl being aloof, etc. Everything points out to Bucket soldiering through the process as long as he could, because he genuinely liked being in Guns, artistically (and the pay was prolly lucrative). But the nonsense made him rebellious, watching porn in a chicken coop with dog turd on the floor - it was just taking the piss, much like Brain setting his drums on the attic of the Village Studios, and tweaking the kit endlessly. Nobody was saying no to them, nobody was giving directions, so they were pushing it both out of curiosity and also, to gauge a reaction. You'd think eventually, Axl would come down on them and form an opinion. Apparently, he rarely did. All they had were studio people, managmement and a bunch of lawyers egging about.

I binge-watched S1 a while ago and was really into it until the last episode or two. The ending was a cop-out as far as I was concerned. Overall, great TV, tho.

S2 had me excited beforehand when the logline given was "bad men, hard women, and the secret occult history of the U.S. transportation system." I felt that was great; TD could've carved a niche with hard-boiled crime stories laced with supernatural. Then, the occult angle was dropped. Bummer. What differentiated TD at the outset from most cop shows vanished.

I'm still to see a single episode from S2. Judging by the reception, I doubt I'll bother. The things that captivated me, Rust Cohle and the Yellow King, are both long gone. Perhaps the online reception has been a bit unfair; S1 was so revered that it appeared many people were just waiting for an excuse to hack the follow-up into pieces.

Having said that, the wreckage does present the hubris of showrunner Nic Pizzolatto, who apparently figured he was the leading light of S1. In reality, it appears he was 'just' a part of a solid team. With the cast, director and occult overtones gone, he's been left holding the check. Pity, that.
